I think if I suggested any more trips that "happened" to coincide with RunDisney events, my wife my start to get suspicious :)

Few weeks? We're only 8 days away! ;)

But yes, I'm participating. :) I really wanted to work up to jogging it, but my shins won't have any of that. So I'm hoping to do a walk/jog combo and we'll see how it goes!

We arrive that morning but it is just too much this trip. We are bringing friends who have never been to Disney PLUS celebrating me turning the BIG 4-0!!!

Just got home from the 5K and had a great time!

Packet pick-up last night was the worst I've ever seen it. It literally took 45 minutes for us to get our stuff. It was very poorly organized but everyone seemed to be in good spirits and just laughed it off.

We got to DHS at 6:15 and were able to wait in the nice tent they have up in the Television lot (they did this last year too, which was greatly appreciated as it was quite cold for February). The weather this morning was very mild - we were even treated to a beautiful sunrise.

The start was delayed just a bit - I think they mentioned some buses had gotten there late. But the race itself was very nice. The only characters that i saw were Mickey and Minnie, who were posing in the tent beforehand and high-fiving at the finish line. Mulch, Sweat and Shears were performing at the Hat which was great. Other than that, very little entertainment but not surprising for such a small race.

I am now a believer in the power of KT Tape! I had used it on my ankle during Everest last year after they gave us free samples, and decided to try it on my shins today. I am pleased to report that my boyfriend and I were able to jog about 75-80% of the course and only started feeling a little pain during our last hurrah in the final .1 mile. We completed a personal best at just over 41 minutes (unofficial according to my records) which was a big deal for us! :) The winner crossed the finish line just after we passed the first mile.

So all in all it was a great event as usual and hope all those who participated had a great time as well. We'll be skipping Everest so our next race is the Disneyland Half for that coveted Coast to Coast!
