Just curious what it is like? I applied for a leadership role in Disneyland and got a call today about setting up a conference call/interview via phone since I live in Midwest.

Not getting my hopes up, but extrememly flattered that I even got a call after many years of applying and getting many Dear John letters.

My personal experience was a first round interview here at Notre Dame and then a second round interview in Orlando, so it looks like we'd be taking much different paths, but 'good luck" just the same!

I'd venture to guess that the phone interview is going to be your "first round" interview, and that (assuming they like you), you'll be invited out for second round interviews at the resort.

I apply all the time and get the "dear john" letters as you say. Sometimes, I think a masters degree can make it tougher to get in, anywhere.:brick:

Best of Luck to You!

To be honest, knowing how hard it is to get in with Disney, I am still suprised that I have only gotten one call. Dont get me wrong, I realize that there is stiff competition at Disney, but my background is relevent to what I applied for.

It is not like I am trying to design attractions or work on feature films. I apply for Merchandise related role in middle to upper managament. I applied for Business Development Manager for Downtown Disney in California. I got a call 2 days later....so lets see what happens.

Before, I got either a Dear John letter or nothing at all. Since I always applied for Merchandise leadership roles, I thought I would at least get more calls...

I am a Retail Marketing Consultant now and tell retail companies how to run their operations. I deal with 16 retailers across the United States. In my previous life, I was in middle management with Target and even did a stink as a Human Resources Manager. I was a Retail Product Development Manager for Coca Cola and in mid level management for Meijer in the Midwest. Plus I have a degree in Organizational Management.

Even with that I got one call over 20 years...-lol

Oh well...:D

So did you get the job? Best of luck to you. I've tried for many years to get into middle management for the I/S department. Like you I only applied for that fits my skills, but I know there is a lot of competition.

Again best of luck to you.
