Anybody stay at Saratoga Springs?

I've just upgraded to Saratoga Springs bc of the Passholder rate, and I have a few questions about it.

1.) How are the rooms?
2.) I've read that there's hardly any crowds for busses, is that true?
3.) Does Magic Express go to Saratoga Springs?

Thanks

What room did you get? The "standard" room is a studio with a kitchenette, a couch that pulls out in a bed, and either a king bed or 2 queen beds. The rooms are nice and comfortable.

It is also my "home", so welcome to my home.

A friend and I stayed there in 2005 and really liked how close it was to downtown disney.
1) rooms are nice
2) we never saw many people while waiting at the bus stops. there are many stops in the hotel (think old key west) so it breaks up the crowd.
3) yes it does. You arrive and leave at the front building but they will drive you to your building and bring your luggage when it arrives.

Saratoga is our home resort as well, and we've stayed there many times. We've stayed in the studio, 2-bedroom, and 2-floor, 3-bedroom grand villa so we've seen pretty much every room setup. It's a beautiful resort, the rooms are nice and large, and very nicely decorated.

The walk to DTD is quite nice, especially if you're staying in the Congress Park section. CP is the oldest section, so it has a bit more wear than the others, but in reality the resort itself is only 3 years old so it's nothing major. It's our personal favorite section due to the proximity to DTD.

There is a quiet pool in each section if that suits your needs, as well as a large pool near the main building. There is a great quick service food area with lots of food supplies for cooking in your room (if you're looking to save money). The Turf Club is a wonderful sit down restaurant, and it's hardly ever crowded.

They've added on to the resort since we've last stayed there (Carousel had yet to open) but the buses run frequently and the stops are rarely crowded. You can often get on at the last stop and still have plenty of seats.

Magical Express does go to Saratoga - you'll often share the trip with OKW (and possibly others). You'll pick up the bus at the check-in area.

Thank you all so much for your quick replies. I believe that we're just getting a standard room. That's good about DME, as I was afraid that it didn't go to DVC hotels.
I'm really looking forward to this, as I used to watch the Saratoga Springs busses pull away from EPCOT and the Studios with little to no people on them. This is kind of exciting, a Disney trip where I won't have to stand on a bus.
Thanks

We'll be staying at SSR from July the 1st to the 7th, even though it is one of our homes this will be the first time staying there. Can't wait either, we already stayed at our other home at BCV, so this will be a change.

also...if you get a chance to eat at the Turf Club at SSR, do it... it is very good! Reminded me a lot of the food at Coral Reef in Epcot

My wife and I just stayed there for the first time in mid April and we really liked it. We had visited the resort once before for the DVC presentation(we just became DVC members:sohappy: )and while it was very nice it just didn't seem to have that "Disney Magic". When it came time to book our April trip(it was kinda last minute)the only DVC resort we could get was Saratoga. I must admit I wasn't looking forward to staying there but I was pleasantly surprised. It really is a beautiful resort. We love the more heavily themed resorts like like AKL and WL but I was surprised at how well Saratoga carries out their equestrian theme. The rooms are very nice and roomy. The bus service was good but not great.

Saratoga was designed to be relaxing and take you away from the hustle and bustle of the parks. For some folks this wouldn't be a problem but for us it tended to take you out of the Disney experience. We really didn't feel like we were at Disney. I may get flamed for that last statement, I'm sure there are those who will totally disagree with me, but that was our experience and I'm sticking to it.

Saratoga is our home also. We stayed in the one bedroom villa last summer for two weeks. It is a beautiful resort and the rooms are extremly nice. I do agree with the previous poster though, I never really felt like I was at Disney when we were there with the exception of the main pool area (which is wonderful). Also, the buses were never full but we always had to wait longer than twenty minutes for a bus.

Saratoga is our home away from home too and we just love it. The rooms are really nice and it is so pretty. We have had good experiences with the busses as well with them not being crowded. All in all it's a great place. :slurp:

DH and I have been considering the DVC at Saratoga Springs. Nice to hear that it is a good place. And the quietness and remoteness is a huge plus for me. Sometimes, I just need to get away from it all.....even at Disney.
