We are staying at the summer bay resort due to a great military discount they offer...but I have never heard of it...anybody heard anything?

Hi, Summer Bay gets lots of good comments on all the boards...It is just west of Disney on Hwy 192...Huge time share resort with lots of amenties.
Access to Disney is good via 192 but if you don't mind dropping a couple of quarters in a toll booth you can take the brand new 429 toll NORTH just east of Summer Bay off 192 to the slick new Disney entrance off 429.
If you take 192 and traffic is heavy at all, you will hit 4 to 5 stop lights that can take a long time to finally get to Disney off 192...but no quarters spent! There is also a little short cut off 192 on Sherberth Road which is the 2nd or 3rd stop light you hit going east on 192...Turn left on Sherberth and come in at Animal Kingdom after turning right at the stoplight that says OSCEOLA PARKWAY...To exit Disney via Sherberth, follow the signs in Disney to Animal Kingdom, just before AK stay left to Animal Kingdom LODGE...then left at the light on Sherberth and back to 192....I VOTE FOR THE 429 TOLL FOR THE EASIET AND FASTEST!.
I think you will be more than happy with Summer Bay and so glad to hear you got a great military rate...enjoy...Ted

Thanks so much for all of the great info, directions, and links. The info on the new entrance will come in handy I am sure! Also thanks for the links it had some great pictures and reviews so I am at ease with our decision to stay there now. Thank you so much!
