My advice for you is to come planning to miss the show and if it soft opens, be pleasantly surprised and enjoy the magic created for yourself. If you have a smart phone, check WDW Magic, because if they have a soft opening, it will probably be posted here. That way, you'll know if you need to head over to MK or not.

Just curious... what exactly was the context of the line Genie used? Was he referring to lago as "the Tiki Room reject"?

Yeah, it was at the end of the show and he used it in reference of what to do with him after Jafar had been genie-fied.
