Just saw a picture on twitter and man is that building large!! Are we positive there's nothing else going there??

Here is a comparison I did of the old theatre and the new one. You can see the new one is a little larger but not significantly.

Have to take into account the height of the building too. I assume they may be considering increasing the angle of the viewing stands which could increase capacity substantially. The show building will be much closer to a major pedestrian area and likely will draw bigger crowds. Especially if the show has been enhanced. Definitely think they did well to keep the show and hopefully an improved presentation and staging. Win.

The audition site for FoLK says: "This original musical theatre production will be performed live in the NEW state of the art, indoor, 1500 seat theatre-in-the-round in Disney’s Animal Kingdom®".

How many seats was the Camp Minnie-Mickey theater?

I'm sure hoping against hope that 'the NEW state of the art' theater will approach anything as nice as the 'Hong Kong' version:

Their Festival of the Lion King, has a multi-level, rotating stage that comes out of the floor!

Hong Kong indeed has the more technically dazzling show, but their retelling of the Lion King is kind of cheesy. Hopefully only the technical aspects of Hong Kong's are reproduced in this new theater.

I had 1375 for the old theater.

I think at some point the Giraffe section was extended farther back than the Lion section opposite it, which was probably limited by the walkway outside. If they extended the Lion section to mirror Giraffe in the new theater, that could account for additional seats.

So we got some nice photo updates on April 14th, has anyone heard a peep on the performers who supposedly were going to have to re-audition for roles in the show? Has that happened yet? "Summer 2014" is quickly approaching.
