Any suggestions for a romantic getaway?

:wave:Hi guys. I just booked OKW for a romantic anniversary getaway for just me & my wife! (11/18,19,20/08) Kiddies will be staying home this time! :D We will be there for only 3 days, and I am looking for some suggestions so that I can plan out a complete itinerary. She has no idea that I am doing this, and I can't keep the secret for much longer. Of course we must visit at least 1 park (hardest decision) but I want her to really remember this trip, even as short as it mey be.

So... any suggestions???

I would say the decision on the park will really be up to your preferences! Perhaps MK holds a special place in your heart because of a trip just the two of you took? Maybe EPCOT with the World Showcase and all the different countries will be the way to go?

If I had my choice, I'd want to be surprised with EPCOT. Maybe you can go around together to each KidCot spot and have them write 'I Love You' in their native languages. You can enjoy a nice, romantic meal in WS too.

Hope this helps. Let us know what you decide!

Thanks. I'll have to check out the Disney florist sit at lunchtime.
How do I find out about the carriage rides?
And does anybody know anything about the fireworks cruises???

On our last trip we did bring out 3 year old son, so we arranged for a babysitter and we went to Victoria & Alberts for a wonderful meal. I would strongly suggest this a great date night, if you have a DDE card you get 20% off the dinner (basically your tip is included for free) and the meal is wonderful. If you are going before they close Downtown Disney after dinner make a trip to the Adventurers Club.

That is how we spent our date night and it was an almost perfect night, I say almost because we returned to our hotel room with our son in it instead of being alone as you two will.

Have a great vacation.

Ah, the Adventurer's Club. We haven't been there since 1995, which happens to be our last "adults only" trip with some good friends. That's a great idea. Does anybody know when it is closing down???

As for the no kids, I better be careful. We have 4 now (we kind of planned for 2). I better have the factory shut down before our trip:eek:

Call 407 WDW PLAY. They can tell you all about the carriage rides and the fireworks cruises and make reservations for you as well.

I don't know if budget is a consideration, but have you considered Victoria and Alberts? If you like fine dining and enjoy being pampered and treated royally (some people are uncomfortable with that - but they really make it a totally "unembarrasing" experience), don't mind spending a bit of money, and like lots of varieties of food, and to take your time (i.e., you're not the meat-and-potatoes, sit-down-eat-and-get-out-of-there type) you might like this. It's a unique experience, and the most romantic thing I've every done in WDW. There are about five courses, and it takes 2-3 hours.

We did our anniversary at WDW a few years back, and it was great. We stayed at the Yacht and Beach Club, did the couples massage over at Saratoga Spa, ate at California Grill, and hung out at the pool all day. We were there for three days and two nights, and never stepped foot inside one of the parks!

It was great. There was no hustle and bustle, no stress to do anything, and a great experience.

I think we will go into a park 1 day. It will be so hard not to. But we basically have 2 full days, then the third day until about 4pm. I booked OKW for the last night also so that we don't have to check out early. (I had some left over DVC points that expire 12/01)

Anyway, I am going to call the "WDW-PLAY" number now to get some info. & Victoria& Albert's sounds like a great idea also. Thanks for all the great tips and keep the suggestions coming!!!

If only MY husband had such great ideas *sigh*.

If I was going on a romantic trip for two I would definitely want to go to Epcot. It is such a different experience there when it's "adults only".

The boat to DTD from OKW is romantic and you don't have to pay extra ;)

Show your husband this thread & maybe it will plant a seed!
That boat to DTD is a good Idea because we love to shop together. But it will be even better if we can actually look at goddies for ourselves instead of just for the kids. We usually get 2 minutes in the housewares stores and 4 hous in the toy stores. Although I must admit, we love to shop for kid's toys also.
