JenniferS ate there yesterday - pics here:How's the food? the menu looked pretty good.
I went there back in 2010 and fell in love with a dish there. Been thinking about it for 6 years. But Im sad to say that they no longer had it on the menu. It was an egg noodle dish with fresh zucchini and mint. Which I know sounds a little odd. But it was the closes thing Ive found to a dish my Sicilian great grandmother used to make.
Interesting. I have made tomato and zucchini with fettuccine and basil (with a little butter and cheese) but never with mint. Sounds interesting, I may have to try it, substituting out the basil.
It didnt have any tomato at all. It was in an olive oil sauce. I swear I must be the only Italian I know that doesnt eat red gravy! Makes things difficult at family functions, which is probably why this dish stuck out in my memory from way back when.
While I am not Italian, and I do enjoy a good tomato sauce (sorry, I have a thing about calling it gravy) I honestly do not like "red sauce" restaruants.
I think "Red Gravy" might be distinctly New Orleans italian/sicilian thing.
Trattoria al Forno replaced Spoodles. This thread is about Tutto Italia in Epcot. My husband and I were there in April. It was good but not awesome. My opinion may be slightly clouded because we LOVED Spoodles; so simply by replacing Spoodles I was disappointed. The service was very good.
