We ate there in June, and loved it! We had a wonderful waitress and the food was a little fufu for us (smallish portions) but the taste was amazing! Highly recommended by DH and I :)

I went there back in 2010 and fell in love with a dish there. Been thinking about it for 6 years. But Im sad to say that they no longer had it on the menu. It was an egg noodle dish with fresh zucchini and mint. Which I know sounds a little odd. But it was the closes thing Ive found to a dish my Sicilian great grandmother used to make.

Interesting. I have made tomato and zucchini with fettuccine and basil (with a little butter and cheese) but never with mint. Sounds interesting, I may have to try it, substituting out the basil.

As for Tutto Italia, I haven't eaten there in a long time - but it was excellent back then. I did do a food and wine lunch during F&W there two years ago, and that was excellent as well, but you really can't judge by that.

We dined there last week. Got the lamb and steak - both were delicious! The portions were a bit on the smaller side, but you could definitely taste the quality over places like Be Our Guest (in our opinion). The Bacio al Cioccolato was drool-worthy.

It didnt have any tomato at all. It was in an olive oil sauce. I swear I must be the only Italian I know that doesnt eat red gravy! Makes things difficult at family functions, which is probably why this dish stuck out in my memory from way back when.

I dined there last month and ordered the lamb which was delicious but wish I'd have ordered the steak because my husband did and it was amazing. Definitely going here again.

No tomato? Scandal !

Seriously though, the dish I am referring to has tomato as a component of vegatables in it, not as a sauce. The sauce on the one I make is olive oil (or butter) and cheese. I put vegatables in it, and most of time when the zucchini is good, then the tomatoes are also good, but I could just as easily use a different vegatable.

While I am not Italian, and I do enjoy a good tomato sauce (sorry, I have a thing about calling it gravy) I honestly do not like "red sauce" restaruants. There is so much more to Italian food than tomato sauce.

I think "Red Gravy" might be distinctly New Orleans italian/sicilian thing.

I have a friend who was rasied in Brooklyn by 1st generation Itialian parents - she calls it red gravy (or more to the point - just gravy) as well.

On the other hand I know people who were born in Italy, and they have not idea what you are talking about when you say red gravy.

It's just like when people pronounce cappicolla "Gabbagool"

Barbara Eden+? Bring it!!
We ate there this week. It was good as always. I enjoyed it, and the service was excellent. I went with my usual Lasagna. It's nothing crazy or over the top, but it's solid and dependable. I need that after my wife and I order the Antipasto Misto. That platter really is a meal for two with the bread they serve. My wife had fish, as usual and enjoyed it.
