Any popular WDW restaurants you just don't get the appeal of?

Le Cellier...the best part is the private entrance..love that beautiful garden and that is about it. Kinna freaked about reading this blog as we are trying the 50's Prime Time Café for the first time this trip. We have been to Diz about a dozen times and always frequent our favs. We decided to change it up and are adding 50's Prime Time. Hope I don't regret this!
We have been to 50's PT many times, and completely disagree with this thread. The food has always been excellent, and we love the banter and all with the servers. It is a must do on every trip, and we have never been disappointed.

Same for us! We've had Cousin Cooper twice, once in Feb of 2013 and then again in Sept of 2013 and he was AWESOME!!!

It is known as a Japanese steak house.... Thanks though for your wrong comment.
It's known as a "traditional Japanese" restaurant (as per their description online) serving steak, chicken, seafood and vegetable dishes. But you keep trying; it seems to be what you're good at....

I wasn't crazy about Via Napoli. I know it is a perennial favorite, but I really thought the pizza was flavorless.
Which did you get? This is another place that DW and I will completely disagree with this thread on. We go there every trip (sometimes twice), and it is always fantastic. I know that some do not like the fact that it isn't like Pizza Hut or Domino's pizza, or even realize that it is different until they get there. Then because it is different, they say it sucked. Oh well.

I'm really surprised there haven't been more declarations of "we got food poisoning there!" in this thread. From reading past threads of this nature (both here and..the other place) it's seems to be rampant in Disney.

It was the funghi one. I don't eat Pizza Hut or Domino's, so that it was not why I didn't like it. I love a thin crust pizza and my dream is to have a wood burning pizza oven in my yard, so I can get those nice char marks on the crust. But it just came up short for me. I know some people hate that charred crust, too, and that's why they hate Via Napoli, but I love it. I wanted to like it, I really did, but no dice.

Sorry you got a bad one. We've never gotten that one. Maybe they just had an off day? We usually get the Quattro Formaggi or Pepperoni. Always good. We love the char!

I have to agree with those that mentioned Coral Reef. I've had dinner and lunch there three times, and I won't do it again. The idea of sitting beside a big aquarium while you eat is nice and scenic, but the food and waitstaff are less than good. I've tried a different entree each time hoping I'll "find a good one". I've yet to find one and I've thrown in the towel. I know lots of people love it, but having had three bad meals there, that's enough for me. I really wanted to like that place.

Another one I didn't get was The Garden Grill. While the characters were great and our server was attentive, the food just seemed kind of blah. Maybe it just didn't float our boat, but both my husband and I just felt like we served normal cafeteria food. I do remember the bread and butter being good, though. I'd go there again with other people, but it would not be on my list of places to reserve in advance.

I know the OP didn't ask this, but ones we love that were complete surprises for us: Rose & Crown, Liberty Tree Tavern, and Sanaa.

My daughter loves Garden Grill (sometimes) so we have eaten there quite a bit. It seems to be hit or miss - Hit about 70% of the time. Sometimes the food is really quite good, other times it is just, as you said, blah.

I make their flank steak at home every so often, because my daughter loves it. You do have to let it sit in the marinade for a LONG time. I suspect that when they get slammed, or do not plan correctly, they are rushing food out and not letting it marinate and or not following the other recipes correctly. When they are on their game they are actually pretty good.

I have to pile on to Le Cellier. The food was okay, nothing more. There is no comparison between the steak at a real steakhouse like Delmonicos. 50's prime time....the food is below average and it takes a fantastic server to make it worth it. I never really have heard anyone rave about pizza planet, but it sucks. I was also a little underwhelmed with via Napoli. There's just so much better places to eat in the Epcot. Again this is all opinion, nothing more.
