What I mean is, I'm too cheap to go to a movie theater. I'm even too cheap to pay individually to rent a movie, so I waited until Frozen became available on Netflix. So I have missed out on the Frozen-related discussions thus far.

I thought it was quite a good movie, though it had a few flaws. In fact, I actually think it might be worth seeing in a theater, and I wouldn't say that about many cartoons. (I almost said animated movies, but lots of movies are animated these days. I saw Avatar in the theater, and that was largely animated.)

I don't really know about a Frozen ride. I'm not sure a good movie is what makes a good ride. Most of the best rides are not based on movies at all. Also, there's little in the movie that would translate to a ride. People have talked about a bobsled ride. Sure, there is the one scene where Olaf body-sleds down the snow-covered mountainside, but other than that, what do bobsleds have to do with Frozen? A ride would succeed if it shares the things that made the movie great, which in my opinion are: great characters and relationships, excellent visual art and design, and some pretty good songs. These things all suggest dark ride, but I don't know. Just Frozen: The Dark Ride won't quite cut it. It needs some kind of clever unique concept. Every princess movie in some sense could be a dark ride, but that would get a little monotonous.

I think a cool event they could do would be to tie in to how it was winter during summer. They could do a Frozen Summer event in July where they bring out the snow machine that they use during Christmas. Do some ice sculptures. Maybe an outdoor ice rink (if that's possible with advanced technology even in 90 degree weather).

Truth be told I have owned it for awhile now and after having had to many drinks last night at the bar I decided I would sober up a little before going to bed so I ended up watching it. Honestly I loved it!

It's made so much money for them and is arguably the most popular disney animation in a long long time... Possibly decades... But yes that doesn't mean it should automatically get a ride...

The lion king doesn't have a ride, nor does beauty and the beast and the little mermaid only recently got one.
I think it needs representation in the parks though, it's a great movie and the ice and cold theme could make for a beautiful little area.

I'd be happy to see it in the parks.

It's not going to show up on Netflix. (Assuming you mean Instant.) Just the general Target-shelf mass-market B-titles, like the sequels, the DTV's, and the 70's-80's movies. "The Pirate Fairy", maybe, but not Frozen.
And being one too cheap to rent the 3D versions of Disney movies, I've discovered the public library system is often cheaper than Redbox.

I think they changed Club Cool too early. :)

The wife rented 'Frozen' from the Redbox when we recently traveled to visit my sister. Needless to say, we didn't like it AT ALL. The story was lousy, the songs were terrible, and the bits of humor completely fell flat. Its success just stymies us.

I still need to watch it. I guess I haven't since my daughter 17 says she didn't care for it. But then I hear some absolutely love it. Guess I will have to give it a try before our trip here in 3 weeks!

Totally agree with you Morningstar regarding being too cheap to go to a movie theatre! I haven't been inside one for over a decade. Fortunately, my daughter did lend me her copy of Frozen and I have to say I love it! The message that the love of a sister can help you overcome many obstacles is lovely to me. The songs are catchy and well written. But someone with more imagination than I will be needed to find a way to convert all those lovely images into a theme park adventure! Hope they can do it though!

No Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King do not have their own rides however they do have a couple of attractions in a few of the parks and other representations like restaurants and cameos in movies and parades.

While I can say I didn't see Frozen in the theaters, it wasn't so much about the money as it was about the crowds. Unless it's a film I'm dying to see (The World's End for example) I usually wait about a month, let the crowds die down and then go see that film in theaters (especially in the case of family movies as I can't stand kids in a kid's movie). Unfortunately for me, that never happened. After months of Frozen being in the Top 5 at the box office I figured it would be best to just wait for the blu ray and watch it then.

Maybe it's the fact that I'm an only child, but the film never spoke to me. I found a review that described Frozen as "a forty minute trailer leading up to the Let it Go song" and I tend to agree for the most part. It's not a bad film, but in my opinion there really shouldn't be THIS much love for it. The only part that I really enjoyed was the bit in the shop on the snowy hill where Anna meets Sven, other than that I thought it was your standard princess film, love conquers all....blah, blah, blah.

But over the years I've come to learn that if I don't care for a film, the rest of the world will love it. If you've ever seen the South Park episode where Stan sees everything as "garbage", that pretty much describes my life. It's very aggravating to say to someone "Oh man, have you seen Chronicle? It was really amazing!" only to have them reply "Yeah that movie was stupid, but OMG STEP BROTHERSSSS!!!! AHHH!!!!"....it breaks my heart sometimes....

Not to mention the late lamented Legend of the Lion King, a prime example of why not to rush an attraction in as a quick replacement to an old one, just to cash in on the temporary box-office-mania audience zeitgeist.

And why some movies work better as just characters or references.

Oh yeah that was pretty bad! Granted I was in my teens when that graced Fantasyland but I remember the show not being that great!

And Mrs. Potts's Cupboard, which I'm guessing is now the Friar's Nook?
(I remember when it was the Black Cauldron food stand, before they needed something quick to replace the reference...Not often you see B&B replaced by Robin Hood.)

It all depends on how Disney wants to treat it. It could be an awesome attraction....or it could be a Meet-Greet-Toilet-Pin Trading area.
Tangled was a much better movie and all it got was a toilet.
(Will...you...FORGET...about the freakin' TOILET????

Better a useful toilet than a useless dark ride--
I'd rather have some nice scenery, and finally repurpose those embarrassing Skyway ruins, than Rapunzel's Tower Fall or Olaf's Bobsled Run. ;) )

It IS the best toilet on property.
Hey, maybe an "Oaken's Bathroom...and Spa" themed bathroom. It could have a sound chip/sensor thingy in it that every time you open a stall door it says..."Hoo Hoo Big Summer Blowout."
It'd be, well, different.

Seeing as that was my favorite part of Frozen I'd be all for that. What about adding that to Blizzard Beach as an up-charge spa area? It would really bring in the crowds on a cold day.
