It's amazing. I have this Heckle/Hyde relationship. I get frustrated with some of the decisions they make (PI closing for example), but I continue to be a fan. Can't explain it. We took our last WDW vacation 2 years ago and probably won't be back for several more. It's hard to explain, but every trip in the past was with the kids. Now their grown up and off to college. Going to WDW now would be too painful and my lovely wife and I would only walk around and say: "Remember when we..."
But I always have this websight. It helps coming here and loosing myself for a short time.

im in college and my dad and I STILL go whenever he and i are both off (usually may n dec, but we we're thinking of goin over spring break too), he always said that we should make the memories while we can, b/c 1 day ill b all grown up married w/ kids n we wont every be able to go back and do it again.

even if he doesnt have the money he puts it on credit card n pays it off over the year b/c it means THAT much to him and he knows how much it means to me, maybe not the most fiscally responsible advice, but after 40 or so years of hard work, retirement, when you have all the money you want, will you really be happy without the memories?

Welcome to the club.

I get teased everyday from the students I teach to the teachers I teach with.

We were having a heated discussion the other day in the faculty room and when I voiced my opinion:hammer: I was dismissed as having no right to be heard because "the only reality he has is Disney World":brick: Let's just say that the "Irish" in me took over that day and I wasn't very WDW-like in my response to being dismissed.

PS: All the teasing doesn't stop them from coming to me when the need advice for their trip to WDW.
LOL I know this feeling only too well! My DH and I teach at the same school and we are teased all the time by co-workers and students who have never been to WDW. However, if one of our students who has been with us is walking by they get this pitying look for the Disneyless one! The Disney kid usually says "Hey, Mrs. P. they just don't know do they? Bless their hearts!"

46 days until we are Orlando bound with 30 teens on a school bus for 930 miles of smiles:sohappy:

No one makes fun of me, well maybe my family, but they've learned to live with it. My wife now even buys me Disney things, and clothes.

People were making fun of us when we decided to go for our Honeymoon and then return for our 1 year anniversary . But then we went again with some family that same year in October. After that, people were realizing that bothering us with the "why don't you go somewhere else?" comments wasn't going to work so they just kept quiet. It seemed that the only people who didn't understand were my grandparents (who had never been). Everyone else knew what Disney offered and understood. Now we're going again in May and people are kind of excited for us! :sohappy:

We are DVC members and although my extended family and friends have been visitors a few times (and enjoyed it), they still think we should go to other places. Trouble is, we have traveled extensively in the past - Europe, Central America, Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, various cruises, etc. We just love going to WDW and DVC makes it that much better....and easier!....for us.

I don't make any apologies for it any more. We enjoy our WDW trips every time and look forward to each and every one of them. We will be celebrating my mom's 80th birthday on our trip in August and staying for a few nights at the new Contemporary DVC! All of us have a great time at Disney!

Yes, but you know what? The people that make fun of us or don't get it, probably don't have a passion of their own. So in reality, they are the ones that should be made fun of.
