Any news on POFQ refurb?

I just read somewhere else that the remodel has been extended to spring 2025...is this correct?

Here's the update from October 7:

In a new statement, Walt Disney World says the refurbishment at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter is now expected to last through Spring 2025:

From May 2024 through Spring 2025, some Guest rooms at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter will be under refurbishment. Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available.

Wow these rooms look fantastic. One of the main reasons we've never stayed here is that the rooms just looked so drab to us. This changes makes me want to stay here now.

I’m happy to see the stand-up showers instead of the combo shower/tub. We’re staying there for Christmas. I hope we get one of remodeled rooms, but we enjoy Building 7.

I believe that the removal of the shower/tub combo may only be in the king rooms. Not 100% positive though.
Just stayed building 1 standard view queen room and we had he walk in shower. We have stayed at POFQ a dozen times over the past decade; this renovation is great and really elevates the room to near Deluxe (considering what the new more generic Deluxe rooms are like). Now you are only giving up sq ft and location.

With some of the buildings offline for renovation the resort and transportation overall was really nice with capacity being lower - not that its ever really that bad.

The only issue for us was the extremely low flow shower heads they installed during the renovation. Otherwise the room was great, bathroom is a signifigant upgrade and the mattresses were a little better than our last stay probably from just being new.

That’s Great News. Thanks for the update @jprieur. POFQ is our fav resort. Those low flow shower heads are horrible. Yes they save water and hot water energy, but boy taking a shower with a trickle of water is something to get used to. I “think” there’s a few YouTube clips on how to make the water flow more.

Does anyone have any knowledge of which rooms have got shower only, for example is it ground floor rooms only, considering accessibility, or can they now be anywhere? I may be in a minority but I actually prefer the bathtub combo! So I feel I have to make a specific request now for a room with a bathtub.

Here now.

Can confirm Buildings 1-4 have been refurbished and are available to guests.

Buildings 5 & 7 are in the previous state and also available to guests.

Building 6 is under construction.

@osian we are on the third floor with a stall shower. If you have an upcoming stay you may want to request Building 5 or 7 for the
bathtub combo.
