There's plenty of entertainment expansion coming. "DisneySea Symphony" is being replaced by "BraviSEAmo!" "Mickey's Adventureland Mardi Gras" is leaving for "Minnie! Oh Minnie!*". "Once Upon A Mouse" is leaving for "One Man's Dream II: The Magic Lives On*". There are many changes coming. Others will be announced as they come, but some rumored things on Japanese fans boards include a Fantasyland and Tomorrowland re-do project. But, nothing is official until it is announced. - The WeirdOne :D

Thanks again WeirdOne, you are a wealth of information.
That be great to see a Tomorrowland redo! I've only been to the Tokyo resort once, but I really thought that Tomorrowland could really use an update. I'm excited to see what they come up with. The last Tomorrowland with a budget was Paris.
Brings me to another question I have, maybe you would be kind enough to help me out.
Eddie Sotto at one time redesigned the Tokyo Tomorrowland as Sci-Fi City featuring Hyperspace Mountain.
As much searching as I've done I can't find any information on the project. Can you tell me anything about it and/or point me towards a site with some details?
Cheers!

I do believe the Tomorrowland re-do isn't happening because of "Buzz Lightyear's AstroBlasters!" opening up, yet they haven't redone a new façade or updated anything on the exterior, which gives me doubts about a re-do happening anytime soon. As for the Fantasyland one, I have seen them add some new photo spots, some new carts and things, so I'm think that that will happen before any kind of Tomorrowland re-do does.

As for the Eddie Sotto project. I have no websites with any regards to that, nor do I myself know much about it. The only thing I remember seeing was the fact that Hyperspace Mountain was to be a Rock 'N' RollerCoaster that was to be space themed with a surprising launch start for guests in the queue (which seemed impossible to me). Other than that, I have no real knowledge of that project. I guess you caught one of my weak-points :p. Anything else? - The WeirdOne :D

I wrote Hill about it, we'll see if he comes down off the mountain to talk to us little people.:D
If that fails I'll try Fab. I'll let you know what I come up with.
Did you see the Disney Sea construction pix at MI today?
I'm pretty impressed that they are doing the coaster and ToT at the same time.
Thanks again.

Okay, I think we need to get a group together to go to Japan. Reading about their current and upcoming attractions is just making me salivate at the idea. That would be great. Then we can follow up with a visit to the HK park the year after!!:sohappy:

I'm sure Hill or Fab will get around to it eventually. Yes, I did see the construction pictures at MouseInfo, and they are amazing. Tower Of Terror was originally part of DisneySea, but got the budget axe due to the budget and other considerations. The coaster, well, that was somewhere in the plans. The reason they built them together is to cause the public to come back to DisneySea due to slumping attendance figures of the park after the initial WOW! factor. Attendance has been falling somewhat so they now have a reason to get people to go back to DisneySea to check out the coaster in 2005 and Tower Of Terror in 2006. So, I am looking forward to both projects! - The WeirdOne :D

Thanks for picking up my slack WierdOne.:D
And although I don't know him personally (just through posting at MI) I agree TDLFan is a good guy. JoeinJpn seems like a nice person as well.

If I take another Disney trip this year instead of some place "normal" my girlfriend will move out!
She's pretty cool about me being a "Disney Dweeb", she even gets into it herself, but she has her limits.

For HKDL, I just assumed that the second park would be a studio because of the Hollywood themed hotel. I'm glad to see there are other possibilities. The studio has always been their weakest concept, especially since Uni-Holly beat them to it.

In the literature they give you at the hotel they call it a 30's Art Deco theme, not Hollywood.
But I know what you mean. I thought it was a Hollywood themed hotel as well.
I also think that while MGM/Disney is a great park the Disney Studios in Paris make DCA look like Disney Seas. The studio idea can be done right (but still not my favorite theme) if given a budget.
I really hope if they ever do a 3rd park in Tokyo it will be an original idea (and once again it will put the American parks to shame).

Tomm4004,

Please ignore my last post. For some reason I thought we were still talking about Japan and not what this thread is about...Hong Kong.
(See what a night of drinking does to you kids?)
Ya since it's Disney and not OLC you might be right.
Disney Studios Hong Kong here we come.

The Ambassador Hotel at the Tokyo Disney Resort is infact 30's themed, and not Hollywood. It does feature that glitsz of Hollywood, but is mostly 30's. You do not see any real Hollywood references, perhaps it just gives off that vibe.

As for the hotel at Hong Kong, it IS called Disney's Hollywood Hotel. That is supposedly in fact 1930's Hollywood themed. But, just because a hotel is themed a certain way does NOT mean a park will also. Look at WDW, we don't have a French park, or a Florida park, or one about the wilderness. - The WeirdOne :D

The Wilderness Lodge is in a sense part of Ft. Wilderness which is themed to Frontierland. GF - Main Street. Poly - Adventureland. Cont - Tomorrowland. At Tokyo the Ambassador hotel has a nautical theme for Tokyo Disney Sea, and the Hotel MiraCosta is themed to Meditereranean Harbor - the Main Street of the park. So they do theme hotels to the parks.

That's not what I meant, I meant we don't built hotels and then parks around them. There is NO Ft. Wilderness themepark. There is no Florida theme park.

Corrections, Disney's Ambassador Hotel is NOT themed to the sea. It has no connection to any of the Tokyo parks, other than the Disney characters and the Disney name, it's a resort place.

The Hotel MiraCosta is Mediterranean themed but, it serves as a whole backdrop to the park. Figuritively speaking, Tokyo DisneySea has NO Main Street equivalent, Mediterranean Harbor is more like a Hub than a Main Street. The Hotel MiraCosta is probably the closest to Disney building a themepark AROUND a hotel because the entire DisneySea theme depends on the Hotel MiraCosta (the other example being the Disneyland Hotel that is a PART of Main Street U.S.A at Disneyland Paris). Without the Disneyland Hotel (or MiraCosta), vital PARTS of the themepark are altered.

Ft. Wilderness isn't essential to Frontierland and neither is the Grand Californian to Main Street U.S.A. Sorry if my tone was really awkward. - The WeirdOne :D

I thought the Ambassador Hotel was tied to the American Waterfront part of TDS but you're right, it's not. It's based on the Art Deco style. I actually walked by it and the look made me think of the Columbia ship area in the park and Teddy R. lounge, a sort of early 20th century look.

Anyway, I agree they don't make parks themed to hotels, but when I saw the Hollywood Hotel I just feared that as an indication they intend to build another studio in HK. I hope you're right and they don't.
