I entered twice, won two free vacations and just kept forgetting about if after that. *sigh*
I believe that is known as complacency.;) I understand completely! I remember that after my first million, I just didn't care anymore. If I had known what the economy would do I would have tried for the second.

I don't remember to enter every day :(. I also want to know who's winning! Are there rules where you can't say until it's all over or something? I just entered, and it's my b-day...I'm feeling good about thiso_O Lol not really.

I was wondering if they don't publish it because the winners might be inundated with a multitude of new friends that want to share their good fortune, but, then I figured that probably wasn't it. It's not like it has a cash value that someone can claim. Just in a business sense it seems to be that to reinforce the thought that people are actually winning would be good press. However, if I were that smart I would be fabulously wealthy. :greedy: I'm thinking that I am too smart to be a Disney Executive though. I have over two digits in my IQ rating.;):joyfull:

I just looked at the rules and the only way to find out who won is to send a self addressed stamped envelope to an New York post address they provide. Talk about keeping up with modern technology.:D

Yea, kinda scary isn't it. They probably did that to discourage people from trying to find out. We should all do it and by the time they get through printing out the lists, stuffing the envelopes and sending them out, they might decide that just publishing them on their site might be a useful option.

They can't announce winners right away. Rules of the contest require both a publicity release to be filed as well as an eligibility affidavit. If you read all the small print in the "winner" section there are quite a few things necessary to actually win (if you were to be selected as a potential winner) and about a week for those things to get taken care of. Bear in mind that some people will actually not accept the prize when they realize they will have to pay taxes on approximately $7000 in prize value, so (depending on state taxes and federal tax bracket) the prize could actually cost them close to $1000 in taxes.

Also, while Disney is the sponsor of the contest (put up the prize), it is actually run by Ventura Associates who make the specific rules and regulations including announcement of prize winners - they are a company that runs sweepstakes for a LOT of big time companies, so they must be doing something right.

Much as I wish that I could complain about Disney in this instance or that inundating them with request cards would impact them, it is Ventura Associates who should both take the heat and would have to deal with any repercussions of not publishing winners.

I didn't really think anyone was going to do that, but, if Ventura Associates is the group that has organized this contest, they I really wouldn't care how inundated they might be. If it is Disney that made the decision to not inform or if it is Ventura... the message would still get back, don't you think? In this day and age of electronic media, there is no excuse for not at least letting people that have entered know that folks are actually winning. It only serves to give them hope, when they know others are indeed being chosen. It makes it seem more real and also more realistic that they might have a chance of being picked.

I have to wonder... did any one of today's executives and/or decision makers even take a class in Psychology? Even basic Psyc 101 would be helpful. It seems that they have no clue about people and what motivates them. I guess when one gets to the point of making more money then god they tend to lose any connection with real human beings.
