Any end in sight for Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It?

Just wondering if anyone knows of an end date for Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It? I was only wondering about it because the Main Street Vehicles hardly ever get a chance to get out. Between performances of MI, SI, CI or Dream Along with Mickey, there seems to be no "down" time to get these vehicles out of their parking spaces backstage. I really miss the horse drawn street cars and the omnibus. I know that during the first hour of operation, you can sometimes see the vehicles in motion, but then they seem to be done for the day. I'd rather hear the sputter of an old jitney or the clip clop of the horses hooves, than the strains of a recycled Hannah Montana song urging me to "Get Up and Get Loud" (if those are actually the lyrics).

Sadly, no end date has been announced yet. I completely agree with you on the fact that MI, SI, CI does not fit the atmosphere of Main Street. Hopefully Disney will come to their senses and get rid of it soon.

Dream along doesnt preclude the trolley from running. It usually runs from open to about 10:30ish and again from 11:45 to 12:30ish.

The tough thing about the trolley is it makes only a few runs due to the song and dance show that does several performance from the castle back to the hub.

The other vehicles IF they come out at all do a few laps and are usually done by 10. The fire engine was out Saturday.

I understand people's reasoning for not liking Mi Si Ci, but I personally enjoy it. If they ever got rid of it, I hope it would only be to replace it with something of the same style. It's nice seeing such a big production happening three times a day. That parade is about the same size of the new one at DHS. I appreciate the fact they continue to budget for something that big to still happen because I really enjoy entertainment and would only hope they get rid of it if they are replacing it with something bigger and better. However knowing Disney they would only get rid of it to cut back.

The problem with move it shake it celebrate it is the theme now. It doesnt match with the new memories campaign. They kinda have everything in a mess and nothing is cohesive, I dont get it.

Its quiet possible move it shake it celebrate could be revamped into something for the 40th. There is news yet to come regarding the 40th, so I was told. But of course that has to be taken as heresay.

Be careful what you wish for, look at what happened at DHS with the new "parade" :fork:

Ya, I totally have to agree with this statement. Though its not really my thing, it's not absolutely awful, and I would be afraid to see what would replace it. As far as the theme goes, I think that "celebrate" is going to be around from now on at Disney. Even though the "What Will You Celebrate" theme is over, attaching themselves in people's minds and having people think to go to Disney for special occasions is a huge part of their marketing. In other words, they need people to think "Let's go to Disney to celebrate _________' as opposed to "Let's go to Disney to make a memory".

I actually don't mind this and enjoy seeing it pass by during my day at the MK.

It doesn't match the theme but I think it still suits the MK!

Personally I think it is an absurdly catchy tune. And the main purpose of this "celebration" is to move guests from one crowded part of the park to a more empty part of the park. I read an article the other day that was about how their HQ underneath the MK has a map that displays crowdedness in each section and if one get more crowded than another they will deploy this parade to get guests to go to this end of the park. I see no end in sight for this parade unless they replace it.

How does that work? They seem to just schedule the parade inbetween the castle stage shows and afternoon parade. I didn't think it had any kind of crowd control purpose or any rhyme or reason as to when they schedule it other than they seem to always want something going on in the castle hub....

I'm not a huge fan of parades anyways, but this one just makes me shudder. The song is awful, and the "MC" should be working for a traveling circus, not Disney. It's Six Flags type entertainment. People on stilts, waving streamers, with a guy telling everybody to "get up ya'all and make some noise.":hurl:

Good and interesting point. The song though is catchy on its own.

Haha, I dare say Disney comes off as looking cheap and awkward when they try to be "cool". It hasn't worked for them since the 80's. (Kids, Inc. was pretty cool at the time). Now it just comes off as weird when they try to be "hip and trendy". I wouldn't mind if they quit trying so hard.

The consensus was that the article wasn't referring to a set parade/celebration like this. But rather unscripted moments, magical moments if you will. And more about them having the ability to do it, but that they don't really do anything with it.

I think a better example of this is the new mini-parades in DCA. Those take up much less space, and could theoretically be re-routed to someplace where they wanted to move the crowd. Or if they had a character move their meet & greet to a new location. That type of thing.

I hope it goes away soon. I hate the music, hate the floats, hate the concept.

But if they bring in a "new" parade that uses that blasted castle mirror float I think I'll scream.
