Any Efforts to Document the Final Days of JAWS?

They've moved some of the walls back, so people can now take their photo with the shark again. Apparently folks complained.

of course they complained! Jaws was the only good ride there!! I was just there in November to see Harry Potter, and my husband and I both said "ok, we saw Harry Potter, now we never have to come back". We don't feel that way about Disney!! We want to go every year if we can...

I'm commenting about the people complaining to want to take pics with Jaws

The walls were moved back for photo ops with the shark!? Awesome! :sohappy:

Yes, there was some comments in the local paper (not sure exactly when/where it was published) about guests also missing the photo op with the iconic shark out front. Apparently it's one of those things that guests looked forward to taking photos with on return visits, as they grow, as if it were a height chart on the wall that mom would measure you against on your birthday.

It seems that anything containing any nostalgic value is automatically put on Universal's chopping block. This is one of the key points on which Disney and Universal apparently differ. :brick:

I'm sure the photo-op will be moved somewhere, just like the BTTF vehicles. I'm just not sure where.

This is one thing I'm really hoping for. I was so glad they kept the old DeLorean and Jules Verne train from Back to the Future(as well as Doc Brown!). People love the Jaws photo op. Always a line for that thing.

They are tucked away along the backside of what used to be the Herc & Xena show building. As you can see here, the car is pointing toward the New York area. The train, adjacent to the car, is huge so you can't miss it. But there are some bushes around the car so you could actually miss it.

The guy in this photo is obviously glad that they kept the car and Doc, so I'll forgive him for wearing a Mickey shirt.

Edit: Yes, the image map below is intentionally from an old map :)

On a related note, I just stumbled across this video.

Read the video description first -

Many posts in other threads talk about Disney CMs doing something for them that made their trip extra special. Well, this skipper went above and beyond in a manner that rivals even the best Disney CM story. :sohappy:

Kudos

That Jesse James guy is a class act.

Wait a second... are those skippers carrying China Lakes?
