Will there be any "day of the Doctor" activities at the UK pavilion on November 23?

Unfortunately none of the Florida movie theatres will be showing the live simulcast. Looks like most of them will have the replay on Nov 25th. The live showing in Atlanta is sold out.

Doubt it....Disney has no reason unless they had some contract around it..

It's like with the Game Kingdom Hearts..People know of it, There is a following...But, Disney doesn't want to do anything about it. Only once they did during the 2004 MNSSHP for the GBA Release of Chain of Memories. After the countless other releases....Nothing.

It's too bad they can't market Dr Who stuff there, would probably be a cash cow, though I'm sure licensing through the BBC is probably not an easy thing.

They have some Doctor Who t-shirts for sale in the UK pavilion.

Some has suggested that a Dr. Who attraction would be a great fit for UK, but alas....

A live simulcast in theaters? Where do I find this information? Is it not going to be on BBC America? Not that I have cable anyway.

Doctor Who will be be simulcast in 11 cities in the US on Nov 23. On Nov 25 many more cities will have a showing. The show will still be on BBC America Simulcast at the same time as the UK and theaters, so I think it will air around 1:50pm. The episode is actually being broadcast simultaneously worldwide, so some countries will air it in the middle of the night.

Are there enough non-British fans also visiting Walt Disney World to sustain anything beyond a few pieces of merchandise?

I'd wager that Dr. Who has almost as many American fans as Battlestar Galactica and the Walking Dead.

Granted, I'm basing that mostly on the people who attend nerd conventions dressed as the Doctor, and the fact that the show was what helped propel David Tennant's name to the top of the rumor list when everyone was talking Batman villains for TDKRises. (originally was supposed to be the Riddler instead of Bane, and there was a hearty push for Tennant to be cast. Which would have been crazy amazing. Cramazing.)

Unfortunately, Nolan had other plans...he revealed earlier this year that had he gone with the Riddler storyline, the role would have been offered to Leonardo DiCaprio first...

Which would have been weird. Because DiCaprio is not nearly as quirky as the Riddler needs to be. Tennant could have done it spot on...quirky without the manic insanity of Jim Carrey.

I have a hard time believing that Doctor Who is as big as The Walking Dead, and I'm one who has dressed up as the Doctor for Halloween (not many people got it).

Hmm. Must be a place to place thing.

Around here if I were to wear a t-shirt with "ALLONS-Y" on it going to the movies, I'd probably get three or four pats on the back. :p

EDIT -- Actually, it's probably just the circles I run with....Nerddom forever. :D

When we were there a few weeks ago, my boyfriend wore his Tardis top a few times and got so many comments on it I was actually impressed. I didn't realise how many people actually knew what it was in America.

and we have tickets to see it in the cinema, but it's probably a lot easier to get them over here.
however because it is in 3D they were blooming expensive!

Side note: there was this project kingdom hearts thing going on at one of the MNSSHP parties (oct 25th) to try and change that. It probably did nothing, but seeing kimgdom hearts cosplayers everywhere was pretty awesome :D
