I'm sure there are a lot of them. I could only afford to get the basic membership. Someday I will be a gold member. Even begger question, has anyone been to the Expo? Its my goal to save money for 2015. I'm not usually one to go to conventions but I make exceptions for Disney!

I'm a charter member and I enjoy it. Yes, the magazine is expensive, but it's very well done and I look forward to it. Sure, in the age of the internet the info is available everywhere else online- but not presented as well as it is here. The club and magazine deal with everything in the Disney universe, not just the parks and not just WDW, so if all you care about or are interested in is griping about the current state of Disney or WDW then you will be disappointed in the publication and D23 in general.
If you are a fan of all things Disney, then it's worth it.
The Expo is fantastic, but then again it is ALL things Disney- film (including Star Wars and Marvel), tv, music, publishing, Imagineering, home products, etc, along with the parks. Seeing the Disney Legends ceremony in person along with stars from the films, the directors and animators of the films is truly worth the time and effort (and expense) to go- especially if you combine it with a goodly amount of time at DL Resort. You have an opportunity to just immerse yourself in total Disney "nerd-dom" for a weekend and meet other folks who truly love all things Disney. Again- yeah, you can see a lot of this on YouTube, but it's not the same as seeing the cast of "The Avengers" in person, seeing Kermit and Rowl sing "Rainbow Connection" in person. Seeing Lasseter intro clips from upcoming animated films, meeting Brad Bird, Dave Smith, etc. Just think of it as Comic-Con for Disney fans and don't expect to see everything- it's very crowded and exhausting. Love it.

My DW and I are Charter members and have really loved our memberships. I agree with 216bruce that it's all things Disney but we've not been disappointed. We had an opportunity to do the D23 tour of the Disney Studios and Archives. If you have this chance, don't miss it. We are planning to travel to the 2015 convention just to immerse ourselves in Disney.

Do you mean even if you go for the full three days you still won't see everything?

I'm a Charter "Gold" Member. I pay extra for shipping out of country [I live in Canada] and still thing it's worth it.

My son and I attended the Expo last year and manged to see all the exhibits over the course of the three days. We didn't see all of the panels we wanted, but most. You physically can't see all the panels, because they run three or four panels concurrrently, so you have to prioritize.

They have a sort of FASTPASS system for panels that worked reasonably well, but you still end up lining up for a while in advance if you want good seats.

We really had a great time and will be going back next year. I'm even "considering" getting the "Sorcerer's Pass" this time, it's a lot of extra money, but I have until August to decide...

We're charter members and are thinking of making the expo our 2015 vacation. Doing a DCL cruise this year, so it may be a good way to take an additional year away from WDW.

I enjoy D23, especially because of the special events I get to attend.

In regards to the Expo, I went to the first two. The first one in 2009 was amazing. There was no one there, pretty much, there were great panels and I got to see everything I wanted to see. Well, the word got out over the span of two years... I showed up at the 2011 Expo, and was surprised to see a mass of people in line. It was like the Biblical Exodus. I thought I had gotten there early, but it turns out I didn't. Almost everything I wanted to see was full. I saw a few things on the floor and left. I was disappointed, but that's just how it is. After 2011, I decided to skip 2013. As of right now, I have no plans on going to another Expo.

If you do end up going, make sure to get there VERY early! I hope you get to see everything you want to.:)

DW is a gold member and we are now planning on going to the 2015 expo if we can afford it. Don't want to go to Cali just for 3 days, really want to hit up SoCal and then go back up to NorCal and see some friends in Sacramento and SanFran. Already pinching those pennies.

Let me clarify- Because of the way that the panel discussions and presentations are scheduled it's impossible to see everything since different events occur at the same time in different rooms in the Anaheim Convention Center. It's really nobody's fault- just the way it is. There's so much going on that you can't see it all, so you have to pick and choose what you want to see- prioritze what you want to see most.

Agreed on the "early". I went in '11 and '13. Even arriving VERY early still means a very long wait to get into the Expo and another wait once you get in- especially for the presentations in the D23Arena. I really wish I'd have went in '09- sounds blissfull compared to the crowds of the last two. Still- I certainly felt like I got my money's worth.

Yes, I'd recommend arriving at the crack of dawn haha. I've got a picture of the entrance in 2009, I'll see if I can find it.

We're D23 members and pay for the magazine....which is worth the price of admission alone. I would really like to go to the 2015 Conference....

Agree the magazine is worth it. Love the concept art you'll see from time to time or just tidbits of info I didn't know about

D23 Gold Member here! I find the membership worth the cost, especially if you are die-hard fans like us, then give it a try. We have never been to a D23expo, but you never know maybe some day.
