any chance for last minute discounts on june 2012 cruise

we really want to do a DC. checked about a month ago for a june cruise next year. just to much for us right now (cheapest was about $6,000 -6,500). we are 2 adults, 3 kids (8, 6, 6). any chance that we could get a last minute deal next spring for a june cruise. we are both teachers so summer is flexible for us but the rest of the year is not. we have never been on any type of cruise so we have no idea about any possible discounts. any info appreciated.

Unfortunately it's unlikely. The summer just doesn't see many discounts. Having said that, there were some kids sail free to Alaska this year at the beginning of June. Nothing for the Bahamas though.

So it's unlikely but not impossible.

Tammy is quite correct. The vast majority of the Bahamas cruises sell out without the first discount being released. Sometimes you get lucky but it is nothing I would count on. About the best thing you can do when booking a Bahamas cruise on the DCL is to book it as soon as they are released. Much like airline tickets the cruises tend to start at the lowest price and go up from there. The cruises that consistently get discounted near the sail date are the relocation cruises but they come with the con of a rather expensive flight to get home.
