Anti-Eisner campaign is hurting Disney, not helping

I believe that is correct. You need to be on the Board to be Chairman of the Board. If I-sner (deliberately misspelled) were not on the Board, then the other Board members would have had to say something about replacing I-sner.

What Mouseright means by "still on the board" is that the board feels, at this time, that Eisner should remain as a member(think temporary emeritus) to fight off any other unrealistic takeover bids like Comcast's 3 weeks ago.

He isn't going to remain as a member, ala Richard Perle on the Defense Policy Board. Apparently when the Board feels they are in the clear from such bids he'll step down totally from the Board and his only capacity in the company will be as CEO.

I belive you are incorrect. Eisner is still on the Board. He is just not Chairman anymore. No way Iger woudl be on the baord if Esiner wasn't. There are 11 Board members.

I stand corrected. When I checked the board members yesterday at Disney Investor Relations, Eisner was not listed. He is listed as a board member today.

The members of The Walt Disney Company's board of directors are as follows:

John Bryson
John Chen
Michael Eisner
Judith Estrin
Robert Iger
Aylwin Lewis
Monica Lozano
Robert Matschullat
George Mitchell
Leo O'Donovan, S.J.
Gary Wilson

Thanks for the heads up!

Is it me or are some of you out there overreacting just a bit? I mean, most people (according to the media-biased reports) believe that we should have taken more time before entering into a war with Iraq. This after 14 different United Nations resolutions were broken over some 10-12 years.

Yet only two days after a Board Meeting, some of you out there want answers right now, changes right now, and results right now.

Might I caution all of you to have a little patience. I, for one, am not an Eisner fan. I have been a vocal critic of his "current" philosophy. I can't disagree with his "vigor" to produce positive results for the shareholders, but his apparent lack of vision for the future, and compassion for all castmembers has lead him to this position. His inability to see the forest for the trees type syndrome.

I will admit the attempted takeover by Comcast did concern my Wife and I. And any future attempt by an "outsider" shall we say?, does the same. But I for one am willing to give the board some latitude here where it concerns choosing the next course of action. Give things some time to calm down from the blockbuster type news of Eisner stepping down, so to speak. We can debate endlessly over whether or not he still pulls the strings, or if he is still the puppetmaster, has been quoted here.

Let's stay informed on the boards here, debate, ask questions, but just give it some time.
