In my family, what we love to do when the trip is getting close is look at each other and say randomly, "Hey, in xx days, we'll be doing ______ right now..." It's a lot of fun. Then when we actually get to WDW, it gives us a good laugh to see what we actually ARE doing at that time. :D
Going in October --> CAN'T WAIT!

I agree with everyone, I love all the fun getting ready.
I handle it by surfing Disney World websites, reading through books, and talking about it with friends.
Even if I am not going for a few months, I will read the WDW guides anyway to stir up all my memories. :)

I bought the WDW Passporter for my last trip, and it's acted as a wonderful scrap book for pictures, tickets, and memories in general. So, when I miss it, I go back to that.

Also, when I was in 4th grade my father and I started the tradition of writing a Disney Diary. 7 years ago I saw it in staples and it had disney characters all over it! So we keep a log of how many times we've been on ToT, the funny stuff that happens, who we bring, the people we meet, the restaurants we eat at, all the awesome cast members, and everything. It's turned out to be a nice book i can look back and watch myself grow up in disney! I highly recommend it. It's inspired so many new traditions too! Like i read it and say, "hey that was fun, let's do it again." And the next thing I know, we've got yet another thing we have to do every visit. It's a perfect momento--cheap too!!

I planned my October third trip in January. I started thinking about booking it around the time my plane landed in 2000 on my last trip. I hit at least one Disney site a night even when I pull doubles at work. I cannot wait to go. The anticipation is half the fun...ok an eighth of the fun. I have purchased every guide book in the book store even though I really don't need one, but hey there are a few new things. (i have all the old ones too) This is my first time staying in CBR and my first time going in October and that is going to be a whole different Disney I think. I usually go at peak times. So yes, I totally feel you on the anticipation part. I don't listen to the music, but me and my daughter do a Disney movie marathon the night before we go.. LOL I pack about a week in advance so this is not a problem. Another thing we do is, make the Disney chain 100 days out from the trip. And on the links it will say XX amount of days to go. Or messages like 90 days to go book your character meal for whatever. She enjoys a lot, but truth be told, I enjoy it too.

My wife & I have one of those big electronic countdown clocks (huge red numbers on it...). We have it programmed for the minute we're supposed to walk out of the house on July 3rd. Unfortunately, it's at 3:30am ( :brick: ) because we're driving down from New Jersey. Since I'm at work, I "think" it's at about 32 days 21 hours 50 minutes and ?? seconds.

It's a constant reminder of where we'll be in about a month. Plus, it keeps the living room glowing red so we don't trip over anything in the middle of the night. :D

Nut4Disney - Excellent article. That is SO the way it goes. We just got to step one. Admitting we need go go back and see Mickey! I think it hit us when our 14 month old daughter was pretending to talk on the phone and I told her it was Mickey, calling her to come down and visit.
Problem is we're trying to sell our house, so its hard to make plans ahead of time.

How is it that no matter how recently you've gone, it always seems so long ago. We just went for a week in January. It seems like forever ago!!! But when we go back (oh yes, we will go back) it'll seem like we never left. When we finally get to Epcot, where we always go our first night, I walk in the gates and sigh.........ahh, home.

I've been anticipating since last august. I still have 128 days to go, and the anticipation will only get worse/better. I don't know what it is, but when anticipating a disney trip, i have disney on teh brain 24/7.

I start anticipating my next trip while I'm coming home from WDW. The plane ride is so sad, knowing that you are traveling farther and farther away from Disney. So I start anticipating the next trip right away. It brings my spirits up.

Only 73 more days!!!! :sohappy:

A couple of more things I haven't seen mentioned here. I like to watch the Disney Channel, especially late at night with Vault Disney. Also I like to go to the Disney Store once or twice week, to get me in the Disney mood and look for new stuff of course!

Thats what they call the late night disney channel programming. its like all the old spin and marty, and mickey mouse club, and wonderful world of color, and old movies. I love it because I wasnt there when it was on, and my dad loves it because he was there for when it was. It's cute, and a great way to learn old trivia hehe

The show I like most on Vault Disney is Wonderful World of Color because alot of times, they will have a special on/at Disneyland. Its not WDW but it still gets you in the mood for Magic Kingdom and all of Disney World. :D
