Another Year of Disney

So after almost two years of having seasonal passes and going 8 times, I had talked to my wife about possibly letting out tickets expire at the end of August after we arrived from our trip in mid April. I told her I wanted to save some of the money for some other things I wanted to make a priority. When we go we do save money. We drive, so we don't have to worry about pricey flights, we're only 3.5 hours away. We stay at value resorts, we bring sandwiches and we save all those gift cards we get during the holidays and eat offsite. I told her perhaps we'll get a 3 day Florida Resident pass and go for Christmas and if not we'll just do it next year for sure. We do need our Disney fix from time to time.
Fast forward to two days ago and my wife asks my soon to be 13 year old what he wants to do for his birthday in August. He goes online and starts looking at Disney and says he'd like to go to Disney. So after twenty minutes of going back and forth we booked the Sports for $75.00 a night for four days, the week of August 17. The seasonal blackout is lifted and the kids don't start school til the following week Crowds are also supposed to be low. Of course my wife says we have to go for the holidays and see the parks decorated. When you add in the park hopper option it's better to renew the seasonal since we get a discount and get the rest of the year. So I guess it will be another year of Disney.

If you love it, and your family loves it, then it is really a bargain! Those memories (no matter where they are made) are priceless! I promise you will never regret spending a 13 y/o's b'day at WDW! It's a wonderful thing that your 13 y/o wants to spend his 1st teen birthday with his family! Sparkle on!

I agree with @NonnaT that it's wonderful when your 13 year old wants to spend his birthday with his family. Our kids usually wanted to be with their friends. We took our two oldest to WDW when they were 15 & 17 and all they did was complain & whine that they wanted to be at the beach. Fast forward 6 yrs & we all just had a great trip last month. Anyway, have a great trip & ENJOY another year of Disney!
