another view on the monorail.

I have been watching a lot of Discovery channel aas well as I am an amature historian of construction.

any way, There is a way to build the Monorail system thruout the resort using both old construction technics and modern enginerring practices. So the real reasion for the killing of the Monorail is MONEY. It has to be because the construction methot to build stable Pylons would increase the budget by at least 30 percent in my guess. the pylons for the monorail can be built on stable ground, unless there is an EPA mandate for the aquafir in the area, they can do what NASA did when they built the VAB at the cape in the mid 60s. and most office buildings are built this way, by sinking a multiple of steel pilings ( I figure from 4 to 12 per footing, and these are driven down to bedrock under the footings for each pylon. so the enginerring is there it's the Dollars and I'm not sure the story of the economy is the realy reason either

There was another (rather long) post about the monorail expansion and I believe thats what Tyler told us, the reason its not be expanded is because it would cost WAY to much money, and would not be effective in moving all of Disney's guest during peak times(park openings and closings) Buses are more flexible, and can move guests around the resort more quickly.

I am aware of that there are 17 threads on that, My point was that in re reading some of them some sugested the stability og the ground was the issue and unless there is an epa protection for the gound water it's doable, I have resigned myself to the fact of no new Monorail, I would like to see the Peoplemover concept used for a new system. I guess after hoping for 25 years I am extreamly dissapointed since i am a monorail fan.

it owuld be awesome.. they should just make something new and not connect it to the existing monorail.. the buses are nice but when they get busy they need another mode of transportation to eliminate some of that croud..

I thought I heard from someone during one visit to the World, but I can't remember who or where that Disney was trying to do something to lower the number of busses on WDW property. Don't know if it was reliable or not, but what else would they do to lower the # of busses??
