Another SNIPER shooting

GRUD

I hate to say it, but I doubt that the jerk will kill himself, or force the Police to kill him. The scumbag will finally let them take him alive, then plead Insanity, and get himself a nice, cushy, padded cell for a few years. Regardless of whether he DOES plead Insanity or not, the Tax-payers will be footing the bill for this jerk for MANY years to come, I'm sure.

Who know's though, we MIGHT get lucky after all? I wouldn't count on it though, and I WILL be surprised if he DOES kill himself. I won't CARE if he does - I'll be HAPPY to hear it :sohappy: :sohappy: - but I WILL be surprised!

Posse Comitatus Act
Source: G-OPL

"POSSE COMITATUS ACT" (18 USC 1385): A Reconstruction Era criminal law proscribing use of Army (later, Air Force) to "execute the laws" except where expressly authorized by Constitution or Congress. Limit on use of military for civilian law enforcement also applies to Navy by regulation. Dec '81 additional laws were enacted (codified 10 USC 371-78) clarifying permissible military assistance to civilian law enforcement agencies--including the Coast Guard--especially in combating drug smuggling into the United States. Posse Comitatus clarifications emphasize supportive and technical assistance (e.g., use of facilities, vessels, aircraft, intelligence, tech aid, surveillance, etc.) while generally prohibiting direct participation of DoD personnel in law enforcement (e.g., search, seizure, and arrests). For example, Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachments (LEDETS) serve aboard Navy vessels and perform the actual boardings of interdicted suspect drug smuggling vessels and, if needed, arrest their crews). Positive results have been realized especially from Navy ship/aircraft involvement.

...and the witness who described the shooter as 'olive skinned' and the weapon as an AK-74, and that he was shooting from within 50', and that he drove a cream colored van, and that the van had a tailight out....well...he was a total fraud, made the whole thing up.

...I wonder how many investigators or cops want a crack at this guy in a small room for 5 minutes?

...and I wonder if this phoney could be Talsonic?

What about killing a past/present federal agent?
Did some research, and yes, the killing of a federal agent/officer is a federal crime in and of itself. The killing of a civilian employee would be handled by a local agency.

Thank you, Brent.

Don't forget some of the family members of the victim. I hope they charge that idiot with everything they can.

My husband's father is 80 and lives in Rockville, Maryland. He's afraid to go out and get his paper in the morning (and who can blame him?)
