Is this any good. My wife and I usually do Cirque Du Soleil at Disney but thought we'd maybe do The Blue Man Group for a change. I'm sure it won't compare to Cirque but is it good in it's own right, what is the show actually about

As always your adbvice is much appreciated :)

Blue Man Group is great-lots of visually interesting things going on and lots of audience interaction. Very worth the price!

Blue Man Group is an outstanding show! Some great humor, amazing music, quirky instruments, and the visuals are stunning at times. The show is definitely more than worth the price. I've now seen the Chicago and Orlando show, and would go back in a heart beat any day. There were some differences between the two, and the biggest one that kind of disappointed me was that they didn't pound a grand piano like they did in Chicago. That might be because of the stage size/setup in the Aquos theater, I couldn't really get a good size comparison.

I was also chosen to be a part of the act right before the finale, which was a really, really cool experience. Definitely go see them, you won't regret the decision.

One thing I do know, is that the tour that they do is a lot different than the permanent shows in Orlando, Chicago, etc. I'm still wanting to see the tour as well but I've seen Blue Man Group twice at Universal and I am still wanting to see them again closer to the stage than I have been in the past.

As an aside: for those of you who like HRRR (Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit) there are two hidden Blue Man Group songs on the ride. 131 and 132 on the touch pad.

I prefer BMG over Cirque, but it's gotten a little stale after three viewings. They need to start making some changes. Still, I laughed till I hurt the first time around and the music is good. There's also some really inventive visuals involved.

Both shows are good, just ones aimed at Disneys core sub 10 year old audience and the other isnt.

Are you saying Cirque is for an under 10 crowd? If so then I would disagree as there are relatively few children attending Cirque. I can't comment on what age group BMG is aimed at but Cirque definately has a sophisticated theme. Not arguing with you, just maybe I've not quite understood you.

I really enjoyed BMG and thought it was a blast. I'd like to see it again as its been a few years now. I've never gotten the chance to see La Nouba though but would like to.

Really? I go to Florida every year and I have NO desire what so ever to see BMG yet I've seen La Nouba 3 times!

How does BMG do ticket sale wise? I got the impression it was kinda struggeling.

Do Disney have an exclusivity deal with Cirque or could Uni potentially get a cirque show there....

If I was in charge at Uni I'd ditch BMG and try and poach Criss Angel from Vegas.... I think he'd fit in with Uni's "target demographic" and I know if someone of that ilk was at Uni I'd go in a heartbeat.

Blue man is a MUST SEE. Seriously..you WILL have a great time.

I totally agree. I've seen BMG out here in Boston and in Orlando, and it's a fantastic show. I've seen La Nouba too, and while I definitely enjoyed it and would see it again, I'd probably choose BMG over it. BMG is more comical, maybe that's why I like it more.

I've seen Criss Angels show 'Believe' in Vegas and it's not that great unfortunately. It's had some terrible reviews although I don't think it's anywhere near as bad as people try to make out.

The sad thing is bad reviews or not... if he was at USF I'd still go...

Yet no mater what people say about BMG I wouldnt....

The thing is BMG is pretty much unheard of here in England/Europe and it certainly doesn't have the pulling power something like Cirque does...
Knowing how many Brits and Europeans visit the resort I would certainly look into what would attract them too... From what I hear from my American friends BMG was huge years ago but has kinda lost it's edge...

I'm not saying Get Criss Angel in but he was an example of the kind of show...

Maybe even Penn and Teller,
or a broadway like show like the Spiderman one (again I know its supposed to be awful but I would still go and see it)...
There's a touring Batman show that is pulling in crowds touring the world at the moment.

Or what if they pulled in a huge act to do a residency?
Someone young and older would like... AC/DC would be amazing!

Try something new and actually go see it. Blue Man has made a few stops over in Europe, although I think usually Germany if I remember right. It is an energetic, funny, visually and acoustically pleasing show. Very much worth the ticket price.

Oh, and they're still pretty popular here state-side. Their "popularity" in Orlando goes right along with the busy seasons for the parks. When Universal is busy, they sell out regularly. If it isn't a busy time at the resort, you can get tickets day-of.
