Anyway, who cares what Brittney does.....she's just some sweet eye candy. :slurp:

Well, there's ALWAYS some tough guy who thinks he has something to prove. I was in a bar on Division Street a few years ago and some guy tried to take one of the Bears players who was there just sipping a beer and minding his own business.

As for Brit, you're right. I wouldn't care if she had a voice like Olive Oyl. Everyone knows it's the big girls who can really sing -- women like Bessie Smith and Ella Fitzgerald. Now THOSE are singers! (Look them up and listen, children.)

2) You're new here, and it shows, because DisneyExpert CONSTANTLY posts things about Britney spears and it's more than annoying when he is always shoving something in your face.

3) Brian Urlacher has nothing to do with anything. So because a guy is huge means that he's right? I think not. He's fallable just like you or me.

Fact of the matter is this: If she wanted to be portrayed as adult and mature, she wouldn't present herself to the public in the way she does. She would be able to handle public controversy with class and charisma. However, she goes out and flaunts her body in her shows and videos, and expects everyone to stay out of her personal business.

Remember, if you're going to hand it out you have to be willing to take it. She has used her sexuality to get her where she is today, and she gets all bothered when the press asks her about sexual subjects.

I've discussed her at length in the NUMEROUS other threads. The fact is that she is beautiful, but has no singing range. Listen to most of her songs. From a musical standpoint, they are all in the same few keys, and don't really stretch the vocal range.

Also remember that I have just as much of a right to NOT like Britney Spears and try and discredit her as much as he has the right to post his little articles constantly. Part of being a celebrity is being subject to public scrutiny, so don't lecture me on ethics.
For once I have to disgree with you my friend!
This guy was infact,NOT calling you a white supremist, but was saying that you shouldn`t judge a book by its cover,he was saying that if a person judges a person by the way he looks or dresses the fact that you have a shaved head could be misconstued as being a white supremist or"skinhead",Believe me not to offend but I have to admit I am guilty of that myself, wondering if some of these guys that shave their head are white supremist,I just know that you are not!:D

I didn't call you that!!!! ( Try reading into what I say before you go reporting! I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions and I didn't mean it as a personal attack at all! What I meant was that if I had the pov you were having, I would think that or something like that. It's not really what I feel and being the immature 18 y/o that I am don't have a full idea of what it exactly means. I don't care if I've been reported or what not, I just don't want you to think I was making a personal attack on you or anyone else, for that matter. It's not just Britney, it's everyone in general making statements about anyone in particular w/o knowing anything about the person. Now let's get back to what this site was made for... to talk about a place we all know and love... that and to cure complete boredom! :)
Me~~~~~>:brick: :zipit: :hammer:  Apology accepted?

Yeah, we're cool...I just thought it was funny that someone was labeling me as a white supremacist when I'm 1/4 native american by blood :)

I mentioned it only because I thought it was interesting. Perhaps others thought so, too.

When it comes to music or any of the arts, it's not about right or wrong; it's about personal preferences.

Britney sells tens of millions of CDs each year, while jazz accounts for about 1% of all annual CD sales. Does that mean Britney is better than jazz? Not in my book. And nobody could persuade me otherwise. But lots and lots of people obviously disagree with me and it would be futile for me to try to change their minds.

Live and let live. Eat a snowcone or something, dude. :)

Fievel, again, I'm so sorry you got the impression I called you that! I would never accuse someone of such a thing.

DisneyExpert, throwing Brit Brit in peoples' faces is not something a good fan should do! From Britney fan to Britney fan, this IS a Disney forum, not a Britney forum. You don't go to Britney sites and post nothing but Disney do you?

We've asked him numerous times if he wants to have a Britney chat that often to take it to a Britney board. He doesn't get the fact we don't like (or in my case - HATE) Britney Spears. He left for awhile, then said he was going to behave when he came back. However, when he came back, he told us he would post whatever he wanted because he doesn't have to listen to us. True enough -- but remember: Respect is something that is earned. So far he has earned very little and continues to show his very young age.

Right on Dopey!!! Not just w/music or arts, but w/a lot of other things, too! Wars could have been prevented if we could all just realize this fact!! (well maybe not that big of scale)

HAHA... I'm looking at some of my writing on this post and if I would have been reading someone else with the same kind of quotes, I would think it was a 13 year old or something... "Nuh Uh, I didn't call you that!" and "Brit Brit" <~~Geeze, even this sounds retarded! I cant write today!

I agree with you Dopey...I really do. I listen to a lot of jazz, big band, classical, and such.....I listen to the Metal station at work, so you can see how wide my music tastes are.

I'm willing to live and let live, but if someone is going to start a debate where they are going to try to convince me to like something I know is garbage, then I have the right to defend my position just the same :)

In short....If you don't want to hear my opinion, don't start by forcing yours down my throat. I didn't mind the first debate on her, I really didnt'.....but when the 4th, 5th, 6th...etc, debate came up it started getting old. He constantly posts these mindless cliche "poor britney, leave her alone, she's so pressured" news articles from pseduo-reliable sources. It was nice while he was gone, because there was NO britney debates at all...the minute he returned, they cropped back up.

As this board becomes more and more popular, we keep getting younger and younger. It seems that the older people of the boards have let the standards slip a bit because of it. There used to be a "gentleman's unwritten law" around here that everyone could debate, but please keep it civil. Relentless and uninvited propaganda does not lend itself to that philosophy.

I'm all for debates...I really am....but when we agree to disagree and let it rest, don't bring back up old arguments that are just going to cause trouble again, and again, and again, and ag......

Fievel,

We have the same taste in music. I tend to listen to a rock station at work, too, because the jazz station doesn't come through very well at my office. But, once I'm in my car, I can pick up the jazz station or throw in a CD.

Anyway, why bother arguing with these kids at all about music? They'll learn eventually. Or maybe not. I still like some of the music I listened to when I was a teenager: Motley Crue, Queensryche, Aerosmith. Not as much, but it's a victimless crime. How about you? I'll bet you were a Bee Gees fan! :animwink:

Cheers,

Jon

Sorry about that. My writing skills have gone down the drain today... that ever happen to any of you?? What I meant, originally is that looking at some of the phrases I wrote, one would think I was in jr high or something... that probably doesn't clear anything up, though... :veryconfu

Okie, I never shove anything down anyone's throat, it is your FREE WILL to click the link so don't pull that excuse. I find it odd (and a bit humorous) how you chose to leave this thread be until I posted something about Britney Fievel. And another thing that cracks me up is when people tell me not to post Britney things on a Disney forum and sometimes even go to the length of reporting the post. Then 10 minutes later they go and post something that has absolutely nothing to do with Disney. It mkaes me wanna scream! This is 'chit chat' for a reason. 99% of anything posted here will have no relevance to Disney. Kinda like as you were yelling at me for talking about Brit last time, you were posting something on some cartoon called 'Rejected'. My point exactly. So please, let me be me and let's all just get on with our lives. Steve has even come into one of my threads and told me I had every right to post about her, he even told you that if you don't like the thread and have nothing useful to say, then don't read it.

And have you ever considered the fact that maybe i LIKE pop music? (Gasp!) I have no intentions to switch to Ozzie or any of your heavy metal bands. It's all about preference.

My dad listens to Queensryche. They're ok... but after hearing "Revolution Calling" or "Operation Mindcrime" for the umpteenth time... it gets a bit old. It's just not my favorite kind of music.

Yeah, anything gets old if you play it over and over and over. That is one of the all-time great rock CDs, though. Every song is kick butt.

See...you have like 5 people here telling you the same thing.....I didn't bring up rejected in another thread did I? No..it ran it's course, now it's over...however, you won't let this subject die.

True, it's my choice to click the link, but it's also my choice (and right) to post whatever I like. I started one useless thread ever....how many threads have you turned into britney threads (or started).

I rest my case. Much like arguing about classic disney with griz, it's a useless battle, because you think just because it's a public forum, anybody cares what you have to say.

Fact is that you are young and your immaturity is becoming more and more glaringly obvious. I suggest you take a cue from somebody like DisJosh, who is much younger than me, but you would never know, because he holds himself up to the same standards as an adult. Most people here know that you are a Britney fantatic. Obviously you misssed the point about posting Disney stuff in a Britney forum. True, it might interest a very few people, but the majority will get sick of it after it crops up again and again and again.

I'm not trying to change your music tastes. I've learned that with todays generations it's nearly impossible because of the aggressive marketing that is done for today's superstars. I also believe that each generation will come away learning from it's mistakes (my generation listened to Vanilla Ice and NKOTB, although I'm proud to say I listened to neither, because i was stuck in a classical/jazz phase at the time).

Someday you'll be preaching the same thing I am about some new upstart musician to some punk kid. He won't listen to you either, and then.....only then....will you see what I am trying to do here.

Until then - Go on..listen to Britney. But take in mind if I see any reference to her here in the future, I will react just as I have in the past. You have the right to like her, and I have the right to hate her. Both opinions are welcome in chit chat, as long as the debate stays civil.

I'd ask that you refrain from posting about her, just because it's ALWAYS trouble in the long run, but I know you won't do that.

So I guess I'll see you next time you bring her up......
