Another new testing of the ordering ahead??

I just received this email:

To prepare for your upcoming Disney FastPass+ experience at Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular! we invite you to help us test a new mobile app service that allows you to pre-order a meal ahead of time and take it with you to the show!

Now through May 18, 2015, by downloading the Express Order app on your Apple or Android device, you’ll have the ability to pre-order meals* on-the-go for selectDisney’s Hollywood Studios® locations. (Backlot Express and Fantasmic!)

Available at Backlot Express:

Order in advance on the Express Order app and select To Go

When you arrive at the restaurant look for the Express Order area

Take your food on-the-go and enjoy it in the park or at your seat at the nearby Indiana Jones™ Epic Stunt Spectacular!

Also, avaialable at Fantasmic! (first show only, on nights with 2 performances):

While seated prior to the show, select the food, beverage and/or merchandise items you’d like to purchase and place your order

Relax as a Cast Member prepares your order and delivers it to you in your seat

This is different than the previous test mentioned. I wanted to try it but missed that date by a few days. I think we may try this and see how it goes.

Thanks for moving it to the correct forum!

I'm guessing they have extended the testing from the original end date of May 12th. I switched my days of the Indy FP+ from Sunday (a SWW day) to Monday (on 5/18). I'm guessing they aren't testing during SWW, which is completely understandable since I didn't get an email for my original FP day.

Yep I think the dates of the test will keep on moving until it becomes a permanent addition - somewhat like what happened with Be Our Guest lunch.

It is a third party offering developed externally. Nothing to do with MDX or Disney. Whether that will change in the future is unknown at this point.

I got an invite and gave it a try on Tuesday. It works pretty well and might save a bit of time during the lunch rush.
