Trip Report Another Jolly Holiday ~ JOY From the World ! *COMPLETED*

At the conclusion of my last trip report
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/a-jingle-bam-birthday-completed.922901/
I ended with To be continued....

Well, here's the continuation. :) Though to be fair, the trips were totally different and not connected in any way except they both included Me (yep, a humble one I am!) And for the second time in a year, I left WDW only to return a week later. I am very grateful that I can visit my favorite place as often as I do and am honored that y'all follow along.

I booked this trip on a bounce back offer while vacationing last year:
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/its-a-jolly-holiday-completed.909445/

And this year I may have booked a bounce back offer for December 2017. Okay, I did book. But my love/hate relationship with traveling in December and a few unknowns for the fall may cause me to cancel. Time will tell.

Ready to read about our latest adventures? There's DRAMA :jawdrop:. And ELEVATOR COOKIES . And maybe even a RED CARD ;).

Dates: December 10-15, 2016
Resort: Disney's Wilderness Lodge (duh....it's Christmas!)
Cast: Tuvalu and Woody

Tuesday evening

When I booked our ADRs six months ago, I fully expected Rivers of Light to be up and running. An early dinner at one of the AKL restaurants, followed by RoL, sounded like a good plan.

Best laid plans.

When it became abundantly clear there would be no RoL in December, I changed our ADR to a later time. Since all our recent AKL meals have been at Sanaa, it was time to switch it up.

We have always enjoyed the buffet offerings at Boma. Plus, the restaurant smells soooo good!! (Am I right?)

Though we arrived on time for our ADR, we still waited about 20 minutes to be seated. We were given a table in a smaller area, away from the congestion and noise of the larger room, so it was worth the wait.

Of course I had to get a picture of the ceiling. :p

The last time we ate at Boma, Em and I tried the Chicken Corn Chowder and declared it BEST. SOUP. EVER! Our server was kind enough to provide the recipe and I made it at home and it wasn't the same :(. Still tasty, but it was labor-intensive and I have not made it since.

The soups at Boma are rotated on a nightly basis so I had no idea if the Chicken Corn Chowder would be an option.

It was!!!! :hungry:

Honestly, I could have just eaten bowl after bowl of Chicken Corn Chowder and been a happy camper. But for $43, I knew I needed to eat something else besides soup!

The striploin and roasted chicken were melt-in-your-mouth tender. The salads and sides were good too (although the bread at Sanaa is much better!)

There was a wide selection of desserts. Neither Woody nor I are fans of Zebra Domes (hold your fire!) but the Chocolate Kenyan coffee cups are ah-may-zing!!! (@bee can vouch for me on this! While they are hidden on this plate, I promise I went back for more!)

Woody and I waddled out of the restaurant and perused the gift store. Like BVG at the Contemporary, Zawadi Marketplace has many unique items not found in other stores.

We caught the MK bus, though we would not be entering the park since it was another MVMCP night. Rode the bus back to WL so that we could enjoy the illuminated garland walkway up to the lodge again....it never gets old!

Remember that large window in the hallway just steps from our room? It was a perfect spot to watch Holiday Wishes. :) Even without the soundtrack, the fireworks were spectacular!

Wednesday, December 14

Woody awakened with a craving for a cinnamon bun. We had no schedule for this morning so a visit to Gaston's was easily doable.

We were surprised there wasn't a CM operating the elevator though the "Out of Order" sign was still on the broken one.

The MK bus was just pulling up as we got to the bus stop. It wasn't until we disembarked at the MK that we noticed the FOG. Oh my, what a fog it was!

Where are you, Grand Flo????

We had missed the Welcome Show by a few minutes....
IMG_5126.JPG

....which meant there wasn't a soul in front of the Mickey floral!

Where's Cindy's castle???

The castle entrance was closed off and we were unable to walk through it.....Bummer! We chose the path to the left instead.

Looks like a late afternoon storm is approaching, but it's just the morning fog.

Woody wanted to experiment with a selfie, but after several tries (and much laughter) I grabbed the phone and we ended up with this:

Breakfast. Try as I might, I can never avoid the cold headache from drinking LeFou's Brew. :in pain:

Remember the celebrity we saw exiting the Haunted Mansion?

She's baaaccckkkk!!

I felt the same way about Whispering Canyon on my last trip.. The whole reason I booked it was for the shenanigans and there were none. :(

Watching Elf while in Disney??? Color me jealous.

I love the idea of Tsum Tsum's in the classroom! Thanks for the great idea! The possibilities are endless (instructionally), but just having them there for decoration when they aren't being put to work is just as fun! :D

It's hard to be next to the Little Mermaid and not pop in for a ride. It's especially nice when you've got the place to yourselves.

No one in front

No one behind

Hello, Scuttle!
IMG_5138.JPG

This was now my third time in the MK and I had yet to do one of my faves. Time to remedy that!

Nope, not 7DMT. Been there, done that.

Now we're talkin'! First car, too!
