Another Earth Barge fail

Then people would be complaining when they malfunctioned from time to time. The globe is an amazing piece of technology but like all technology, not perfect. It can and does have software and hardware glitches every now and then. People should just take that opportunity to enjoy some of the elements of the show they might miss if the globe was there. In this video for example, the camera panned over to the Japan tower blinking it's lights on and off, if you're fixed on the globe you would miss that. I was there this summer while they were working on the inferno barge, and while I missed seeing the fire, it was nice to see the lasers in Chaos without the distraction.

I was there this happened last Friday. The whole earth Moved but it DID NOT light up until the very end it had some colors. It ruined the experience especially when I used a fast pass for this!

Would someone please explain what a Fastpass gives you when viewing that show, that standing there wouldn't? I know I sound a little dumb on this one, but, I cannot for the life of me figure out why anyone would need one when it is clearly visible for miles. I watched it once from a hotel balcony 3 miles away. Does it give you a better location? What is the purpose?

For me it would give a better location with no need to wait around for too long and, considering they offer it in the same tier as Soarin and TT, two attractions I can do without, why not use the FP+ for something I do like. Sure, it can be seen from elsewhere, but the location right on the north edge of the lagoon is pretty nice, if the wind isn't blowing that way, and very unobstructed.

The purpose is: it make someone who doesn't know better to waste a fastpass freeing up more the rest of us.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Well.. That sucks. Heck, I think the glove sucks anyways. That's a majority of the fireworks and it's just kinda.. "meh".. I mean it's cool for a few seconds but not for like the majority of the show. They should add a mixture of Disneyland's world of color with this. It would be very cool for a world-showcase theme! Not saying to get rid of the globe, I'm saying to add onto it.

The globe has had various issues for a few weeks now. As has the inferno barge. And the lasers.

Things will get better with this show. Starting now. Ish.

Recently the pavilions were all re lit and re gelled. Lighting continues to be tweaked. LED is coming.

New laser installation continues.

Inferno has issues that I won't go into that can't be fixed overnight. Earth had a glitch this night and is getting TLC for this and other issues.

The show isn't going anywhere soon.

NEW LASERS!?!?!?!? Now the underwater scene will be an underwater scene, when are those coming? I hope they are visible during chaos, the lasers are at their best when the inferno barge is down

See my post a month or so ago.

I was lucky to see how one might look a few weeks ago. Spectacular.
My favorite part of the show is when the earth comes out and the laser effects that go with it, but that scene isn't always consistent, hopefully these new lasers will change that, I fell in love with that part of the show, being 23 I grew up with Reflections of Earth. It's been there for more then half my life and can't believe it's still there, I fear every year that it's just another thing there going to take away from us. I have more memories with Illuminations then anything else, Glad to see it gong strong. I would love to see laser images, even if it's just for the underwater scene then some abstract 3d designs turnout the show. That was a neat effect.

I was there as well on that Friday night.
Situated in the Disney Chase Visa viewing area, I was very close to where the globe moves out from.
It was disapointing, but fortunately I had seen it work properly the night before.
The funniest thing about the failure was two ladies standing next to me that kept commenting about how the "earthball" used to be lit up for the show, and how budget cuts must be responsible for it's darkness. They kept going on and on, it was annoying but somewhat funny. They actually sounded like some of the negative Disney crybabies on this site. LOL
I usually let things like that go, but I couldn't help myself and let them know it was a glitch following the show.
They were relieved, and said they'd come back the next night to see Illuminations in it's proper form.

I wish when they fix the Globe barge they also re time the show to work with the newer pyro, I know its never gonna happen but you can always hope. I miss the days when the show was new and the timing was spot on with the music, When I was there last year it wasn't too bad, but it was hit or miss, in 4 nights only one was really one and the other 3 varied from close to no where near close.
