Another Dining Plan question...

Hi everyone. I couldn't find a satisfactory answer in the other dining plan threads but I do apologize if this is a repeat.

The boyfriend and I have the dining plan with the 1 QS and 1 TS per day; this is our first time using the dining plan. We are wondering if there are certain items on the menu that we are not able to have under the plan. For example, we are going to Bongo's Cuban café for dinner one night and the boyfriend is really excited about the seafood combo platter.

Are there certain menus or certain items for the dining plan or is the full menu you find online available for the picking?

We will ask before we order, but we'd like to know before hand if possible as the only reason we're going to Cuban Café for dinner is that seafood platter, and if it's not available we will most likely cancel the reservation.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
Most restaurants on property you can choose from the whole regular menu. Only a small few you can't like at Bongos you cannot order the Seafood Paella which is for 2. I think that is what you are taliking about in your post. You have to pay that out of pocket.
Chef De France has a few items not included etc. Me personally have dined at most restaurants on property and always have the dining plan and have not run into restrictions but maybe once or twice ever. No worries it is not restricted at prob 95% - 98% of locations. :)

He was actually looking at the famous Criollo Seafood Combo which doesn't say anything about serving 2 (whereas the one you mentioned does), so I think maybe we're okay.

That's funny you should mention Chef de Frances as that is another one we are going to one night.

Thanks for the input, makes me feel better about it all!

You'll find very few things that won't be available -- typically, as others noted, it's items that are meant to be shared, or which form a separate, prix fixe menu.

Your servers will be happy to clarify what is and isn't covered by the DDP, but in the vast majority of cases, you'll be able to choose from any entree on the menu.

Another thing to remember while making reservations with the table service is that some restaurants require 2 (two) dining credits from each person, these include:

Cinderella's Royal Table
Le Cellier Steakhouse
Monsieur Paul
The Hollywood Brown Derby
Jiko - The Cooking Place
Kidani Village Private Dining
Most pizza delivery to the room
California Grill
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue
Mickey's Backyard Barbeque Dinner Show
Citricos
Narcoossee's
Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
Artist Point
Miss Jenny's In-Room Dining
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Fulton's Crab House
The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Grande Cafe

Good advice!

I'd also add that if you want to visit some 2-credit TS restaurants, or if for any reason you find that the dining plan won't cover all of your meals, the tool at distripplanner.com can tell you which of your planned meals you should pay for out of pocket, and which ones you should use the dining plan to cover. (In general, 2-credit meals don't cost double what a 1-credit meal would cost, so the advice will often be to pay for 2-credit meals out of pocket...) Just input your dining plans, scroll down to "Using the Dining plan," and click on the little arrow to expand that section.
