MIAMI - The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a cruise ship passenger who government officials say jumped overboard in the Bahamas.

The Coast Guard says crew members aboard Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas reported Neha Chhikara missing Thursday afternoon as the ship was headed from Nassau to CocoCay.
Royal Caribbean spokeswoman Cynthia Martinez says the guest was reported missing by her husband. Security camera footage showed the 23-year-old woman going overboard from the 11th deck early that morning.
Martinez said Friday that Bahamian government officials reviewed the footage and determined that the woman jumped overboard. The ship left Port Canaveral, Fla., on Monday for a five-day cruise through the Bahamas. It's due to return Saturday.

Well, if it does show that she was alone and jumped off all by herself, then her husband is very lucky, in a horrible way. It would be worse for him to be investagated for something he had nothing to do with, as bad as this already is.

Really? What makes you think so?
Ok I hope this doesn't sound terrible, but I'm going to say it! Why spend all that money just to commit suicide when you could of just as easily jumped off a bridge or something like that wouldn't have cost her any money like I said it probably makes me sound like a terrible person, and anyone who knows me will say I am not, but it just seems slightly odd...

Not sure that anyone pushed. Seems that they have video of the jump and call it a jump. If she had been pushed, I think the article would have mentioned that.
A person doesn't have to be pushed for it to be murder, she could have been drugged, and the accident was drug induced.

If your lead-in to a post asks that, it probably does.

People commit suicide for any number of reasons. Without knowing what this poor woman's situation might be, it comes across as crass to suggest that her rather tragic death is "odd".

She could have decided to jump AFTER she got on the cruise. Who knows what made her jump.

I never understood why people take such extreme and uncertain methods to off themselves. There are many easier, less painful, and more certain ways. But then I realized, they are not in their right minds anyway, so you can't compare them to someone who is thinking rationally.
