Another AP question

I pre-ordered our APs this past spring before the price increase, planning to use them next June and the following May. However, after looking over our finances, I think it may be best not to go next year. So my first question is, if I decided I don't need the APs at all, how do I go about refunding them? Would I just mail them back and ask for a refund, or would I call and have them refund it over the phone?

Second question is regarding if I end up keeping them. Since I fully intend to go back after skipping a year or two (or even three, if necessary), I am somewhat inclined to hold onto them since I already bought them this year prior to the price increase. Each year that we don't go, I am beating that year's price increase, not to mention just having a good chunk of those two future trips prepaid when we do decide to go. But my son just turned 7 in May. I bought two adult passes and two child passes (age 3-9). It may be that by the time we go again, our son may be over 9. Or he may be under 9 on the first use and over 9 on the second use. Would this be a problem? I would not imagine it would be because we paid the exact same amount for all 4 passes: $611 a piece. So there was no price difference between an adult pass and a child pass, so I would not think there would be any honesty issues with using an under 9 pass for my son, if he is over 9 at the time. If he is over 9 whenever we go next and have him redeem his AP voucher, would I just tell them at the time and they would give him an adult pass? What if we went one year when he was still under 9 one year and then the next year, he would be over 9?

If you don't need the money you have already spent for the APs, I would hang on to them. You're right, they are not going to get any cheaper, and it is nice having a good chunk of your next vacation already paid for. If you are inclined to return them, CALL.

There should be no issue with your son's age, since all APs cost the same. And they also look the same, no difference between a child's AP and an adult's.

If you can, hang on to your APs. It will save you money in the long run. They get more expensive every year.

Since they now charge adult prices for kid passes, I can't see there being any problem with your son's age.

I don't know how you go about returning APs, so I'd just call them up and ask. And beg and plead, if necessary.

The tickets are non refundable. As far as your son's ticket you can upgrade it to an adult ticket and pay the difference if any when you go. Hope that info helps.

There maybe in future years.
Future discounts would only mean that the OP could (conceivably, theoretically) get money back. It wouldn't mean she'd have to pay more. They'd know what she paid (the adult price) in the first place.

Although I wouldn't put it past Disney to have raised kid prices to adult prices so that they could lower them and advertise how they've lowered the cost on kid tickets, I doubt that is their plan. I'm all for ticket discounts, though!! It would be great if they lowered them! :)
