Annual Passholders

I was curious as to how often do fellow Annual Passholders visit the parks? Since I moved to Florida 5 weeks ago, I have made 5 trips to Disney World. What I'm afraid of is killing the magic I have held for so many years. Curious to what others feel about this.

we used to go once every 2 weeks. we now go about 1-2 a month...it's been 4 years. Sometimes it gets boring, but we find other things to do. We just enjoy being out there and rarely try to pack our day with rides and attractions anymore. Most of the time we grab a bite to eat, maybe ride 2 or 3 things, and just enjoy the atmosphere.

I dream of the day I can have the luxury of just going in for dinner and leaving, sounds like fun to be able to go to WDW on command (or, rather, not planning years/months in advance)...although, that adds to the excitement!

WE live 3 hours away in Naples, we try to go at least once a year but end up going 2-3 times a year. Each time is special and we havent lost that magic feeling yet!

We have been AP holders since they first started the program back in 1982. We visit the parks about 6 to 8 times per year based solely upon price. If we can’t get at least 40% off of the rack room rate, then we stay home. Fortunately, WDW has always had a very generous discount program for their resorts so we haven’t had to stay home too often. :D

The thing I have noticed is that the "rush" of trying to do everything in a short amount of time before you have to leave is gone. Coming home and sleeping in my bed every night has taken a little fun from it since I only live an hour away. However, I wish EVERYONE could experience this place without having to rush around. It is so cool to just walk around, eat something, talk to cast members, etc. It has been a great stress reliever as I just go myself...its very peaceful to do. I'm not getting caught up in buying merchandise all the time like I used to (both good and bad). You get to take in all the little details. I am just afraid I'm going to get burnt out.....I guess a GREAT problem to have!!!!:sohappy:. Plus, can't beat that free parking!!!

This makes me even more anxious to move to Florida , you won't get burned out if you just relax...it'd probably be great to just go to the park to eat at Crystal Palace and leave! Sounds like such a great stress reliever

I live in New York. I go between 3-4 times per year (about 5 days per trip). I think this upcoming year that will change. I plan to add one Disneyland trip, and at least 1 exclusive trip to Universal.

All I can say is that $400 for the pass is a steal.:animwink: What is nice about my job is that some afternoons I get off early and I make the drive. Yesterday I went to Magic Kingdom....almost everything was walk-on at 2 in the afternoon!:sohappy: Plus it was a cool day so it made it even that much better. I just hope I never lose that feeling that we all get arriving after a long time away.

As passholders for many years, we go twice a year. Our last visit was February 2010 and our next trip is January 2011 and so the next one will be February and so on. This way we get two trips inside of our annual passes. We usually stay around 10 days per visit.

I live 20-30 minutes away, and I go 2-3 times a week. It hasn't killed any magic for me at all! I love it. I usually go to Epcot, and often don't do any attractions at all. I meet friends there to watch some of the live entertainment, like the British Invasion or Off Kilter, and I LOVE the World Showcase players. My son and I have known one of the actors for years. He was actually the first person I ever met when I started going to the park all the time.

Even when I go to the other parks, I don't get bored. I will just wander around, do what I want, when I want. I'll stay all day, or just for a few hours. I mean, this is really why I moved to Orlando in the first place!

We live about 2.5 hours away in Jacksonville and we make about 10 weekend trips per year. The magic has definitely not diminished for us. If any thing it has increased because we can attend all of the special events, take the parks at a much slower pace and we get to meet up with friends from all around the world.

Agree with everyone above. We live 45 minutes away and love going to just stroll. If we ride something, fine. If we don't, we can always come back. Great to be close for Food and Wine, Christmas, special passholder events. Heck, I'm excited about the free bag of popcorn this week. :) And we still stay on property all the time. Actually stayed in every resort except the campgrounds and the values.

Will it be different, yes. Will it get old, no.

I had had an AP a few times. And each time we have done 3 trips during that span. But we time them so the first and last trips are pretty much a year apart. And we then take a year or so off from the parks.

I go about once every other week. Usually for a casual stroll, something to eat and a couple of attractions or shows. Will go for a couple of nights during Food and Wine, Flower and Garden, and Holiday time. I am on year 14 living in FL. Worked for Disney for 3 years and had an AP every year after. Have yet to get tired of the place and it is never lost the "magic."

From trolling these boards (and allears) I have become the resident expert on all things Disney. So whenever a family member or friend wants to go to disney, guess who gets invited. I not only go several times per year, but the pass gets me great room discounts when we go.
So i can tell you in all honesty, NO, the thrill does not go away. i still tear up when i see the castle first time, at Illuminations, when it's time to leave.
Most importantly, if somehow you could ever get bored of disney magic, seeing the look on your companions faces as they experience it for the first time, prevents that. I actually spend more time watching the expressions on the faces of the people I am with than I do some of the shows or parades, it is pure magic to see someone's first trip to disney.
Get the pass and enjoy as often, and with as many people, as possible
