annual passholders?

there is a really good chance that I will be going to disney twice next summer, once with my own disney-crazy family, and once with my boyfriends family who has never been.

SO, at least 4 days will be needed for his family. my family usually goes at least 5-7 days to the parks. so, at least a possiblity of 9 days in teh park.

now, we are thinking about getting annual passes for that summer, since it will be near the same price, with a few more benifits.

any thought on this? what are some of the extra benifits that passholders get?

Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are actually a lot of benifets like 10% off a $25 or more purchase at certain stores at Downtown Disney. They just opened Passholder lounges in DAK and EPCOT of course people with out passes can not go in. You can but passholder pins too. If it is around the same price go for it. If it's more than $30 and you are only going for 9 days you might not beable to get too much use out of it except maybe the 10%

I would say that if you are going to be visiting Disney more then 8 days, get the AP. After 8 days you start saving money. Plus, on top of that, you get the discounts on food and merchandise and free parking! Nothing like flashing the AP at the parking lot gate and having them wave you through.

ok so I have been looking through all the benefits, and it all looks amazing.

what kind of discount do passholders get for resorts? we would stay with his family probably at the all star resorts or carribean beach. but my family has a DVC member ship.

and, can I use my parents DVC membership to get 10% off the pass?

thanks, this is all really helpful!!!!!

Hotel discounts

The biggest benefit that passholders get is hotel discounts. Depending on the season and availability, they can be anywhere from 20 - 45 % off. It's especially good for the luxury hotels. For example, I usually stay at the Contemporary for less than $200 per night. The usual is about 25% off.

You have to book in advance, through (407) WDI-SNEY.

I think it is a good idea for at least ONE member of your group to have the annual pass for the discounts. You may not need the others to get the annual pass, especially since the hotel discount really only matters to the person who pays for the room, and since meal discounts can be made on one check.

Yes. Mostly it depends on the season and the rate of bookings, though. The marketing people use this discount to fill up unsold rooms, as well as to bring in people during slow times. So, the number and location of discounted rooms can change almost daily, I have noticed. If you KNOW that you will buy the annual pass, then tell the reservation agent at (407) WDI-SNEY that you are looking to book at the PASSHOLDER RATE, and he or she will tell you the availability of that rate at each given resort, for each time period you request. If your dates are flexible, you are likely to find great savings. But you have to know to ask for it!!!!! They will not offer that rate unless you ask for it!

I got an annual pass this last year. We went the first week of December for 9 days and stayed at the Grand Floridian for $190 a night and then we went back in April for 6 days and stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort for $90 a night. As people have already stated keep calling because the rates seem to change almost daily. You can always make a reservation and then cancel it if you find a better deal. I would also check out mousesavers.com. Mary always lists the most current passholder rates and even offers passholder codes for even better discounts on occasion.

One last thing, No matter what you do have fun. Thats what its all about.:sohappy:

An AP is only about fourty dollars more then a seven day hopper!!! So if your going more then seven days its well worth it and if you stay in Disney its even more worth it!!!! We are going this fall and are saving thirty dollars a night on our rooms w/ the AP discount. You do have to call way ahead of time though. I say go for it!!!!!!!!
