If you pull up the MDE app and show where your pass type is listed, the CM's will also take that.

That's annoying. I agree, I don't like how they just write your name in with a Sharpie.Ran into some that still wanted ID and the card...
It cracks my up that a magicband and a finger is accepted to get you in and out of 100 dollar a day parks countless times in a year, but if you want to save 3 dollars on a purchase or pick up a magnet, it's like crossing an eastern European border during the cold war. Papers Please!Ran into some that still wanted ID and the card...

We are basically going to see Santa and get our magnets. Not cool enough to make me schedule any time in that park though. It's a pretty desperate effort to get anyone to bother stepping foot in there, I think. Even though AP holders have effectively paid for admission anyway, still they probably aren't bothering scheduling time there, I know I'm not.
I guarantee these will be under lock and key. If it's anything like the 3 cent Food and Wine buttons they're going to need your annual pass and a photo ID. The enforcement of these types of rules really grates at me. It's the penny pinching at the cost of annoying your guests. What are they really gaining here?
Would the year have killed em? It's seasonal already, so go whole hog and make it year specific.
I mean... it's an AP exclusive. What's the point of making AP items to giveaway if you just carelessly toss them to every guest that walks up to get one. An AP always has their card and ID on them. Not sure why this is a big deal.
it is the same deal again for this.
View attachment 247583 Got mine. They're pretty neat. Also have plenty available on hand.
Your name is attached to the card though. So they have to scan the AP and then look at your ID.My only issues with having to show my ID is that they write the AP names on the passes in sharpie, so mine has long since rubbed off. I wish they had a card printer that printed your name and AP expiration date on the back of the card. That would make it much easier to verify your AP is active and you are the AP holder.
Exactly. It's unnecessary. It cracks my up that a magicband and a finger is accepted to get you in and out of 100 dollar a day parks countless times in a year, but if you want to save 3 dollars on a purchase or pick up a magnet, it's like crossing an eastern European border during the cold war. Tell me this seems necessary to you.So just cancel your annual pass if being forced to prove you deserve the exclusive items sends into an emotional fit.
Universal and SeaWorld both do the same for their AP stuff. If it's that much of an inconvenience to you to pull out your Wallet like we had to for 41 years before MagicBands came along (which you love to hate on), then just save your time and don't get the free thing. Easy.Tell me this seems necessary to you.
I have never been made to show ID at Universal Orlando Resort or SeaWorld Orlando over the past decade. The pass alone has always been sufficient.Universal and SeaWorld both do the same for their AP stuff.
