Annual pass renewal

Has anyone renewed their pass lately? Debating if we will for next year..ours don't expire until January but wondering how much the discount is. We do the fl res weekday pass. When I try to look it up, it tells me mine are eligible for renewal yet and I can't see any info beyond that.

It seems the renewal discount is still 15%. Renewed a Weekday Select about a month ago, we went for the monthly payment plan, but when I was looking at it, the renewal (after taxes, rounded up) was $334. When they let me buy a new pass in April (OG expired after the closure) it seems I didn't get the renewal discount, that one was (after taxes, rounded up) $393.

A gold pass renewal (just today) was $54.23/month or 650.72 full. Not sure what the base price on that is now,

I thought it seemed prices went up, but looking at the last increase (Feb 2020) seems it's still those prices.

If you don't renew, depending on how they handle APs going forward, you may or may not be able to purchase a new one. I have quite a few friends that regret letting their AP lapse because they can't get a new one now.

That's my biggest concern. We usually have solid plans for the following year by now but we are kind of hesitant because we know crowds will be crazy. We generally do a 7-8 day stay at the cabins and the passes pay for themselves then. Do renewed passes automatically activate when you renew them? Or do you have to activate them with each renewal? Because if I can renew them and not use them for next year and then activate them maybe very end of 2022 or beginning of 2023 then I wouldn't have a second thought about it. I think eventually annual passes will be back to normal. But I also don't want to take the risk of them changing something about them since everything seems to be up for an overhaul post covid over at Disney

Do renewed passes automatically activate when you renew them? Or do you have to activate them with each renewal?

It's automatic; the pass we renewed a month ago expired 10 July 2021. For the little overlap we did have a "duplicate" with the same day expiration (just next year), and once the original expired, it dropped off.
