Annual pass holder exchange certificate

  1. Sorry if this has already been asked but to many threads to look thru so here it goes

I just recently became a DVC member and took advantage of the premier annual pass discount offer we are going to be staying at BLT in Oct 10-17. We received a green looking credit card that says Exchange Certificate on it so I am assuming that I have to take that with me on our trip to get our actual annual pass and discount card also since we are staying at BLT we can customize that magic band but how and when do we get the annual pass holder magic bands I have called several ( 15 ) times to Disney and seem to get a different answer every time seems very frustrating and still don't have any hard tickets or magic bands the ones we get while staying at BLT are customized but those will not ship out till approx 3 weeks before trip how can they link those bands with the annual pass as I don't have any ticket number to apply bands to any help would be greatly appreciated. Was told by several cm's that once we get actual annual passes that will generate another set of magic bands which would be delivered to us at our home while we are at Disney World just seems like a awful waste of time and postage any ideas or comments feel free to respond thanks again for all the help

You'll get your Magicbands for your resort about 3 weeks before check-in. However, you'll have to link your APs once you pick them up at Guest Services. When we did this, the CM at Guest Services was very helpful in getting us set-up and getting our Fastpasses added then.

Try calling (407) 939-4357. They were able to help me link them (our green exchange certs) to our bands, but I don't remember the exact sequence. It was different than simply going to the Link Tickets link.

He was able to walk me through linking the exchange certificate in MDE. We did not have our bands at the time, and they show up as linked in the MDE. We were told that we will need to bring them with us, so we'll see how that goes.

So you haven't gone yet either anxious to see if it works please keep me informed if you don't mind thanks...on the MDE app the annual pass is showing up just don't understand why they don't just send everything at once as it would save a great amount of time and how are you supposed to use it for magical express if you don't have everything yet.... So confusing

No
Can they link the certificate as I don't have the actual pass yet just a exchange certificate
If you create an MDE account, you can add the exchange certificate to it and when you get the AP it will automagically associate the new AP to your account. So your AP will be active entrance media on your Magic Bands.

The nexus of the My Disney Experience system is *you* (more specifically, your MDE profile). Everything is linked to the profile, and everything talks to each other via your profile. A ticket is linked to the profile. A room reservation is linked to your profile. A FP+ reservations is linked to your profile. A Magic Band is linked to your profile.

So when you scan your Band at the park entrance, the computer uses the Band to look up your profile and see whether you have admission.
When you scan the Band at a FP+ post, it looks up your profile to see if you have an active FP+ reservation.
When you scan it at your hotel room door, it looks to see if you have access to the room.

Bands that are linked to the same person are interchangeable. So whether it's the Band you're getting because you have a hotel reservation, the one you get because you have an AP, or the one you buy at the Emporium because you decide you *must* have a 3rd color choice for your outfit tomorrow...they all work the same way because they all point back to the same profile.

FYI for all of those that are missing there AP Magic Bands like me still :(, I placed my order for mine over 6 weeks ago. I called last week to find out why I still haven't received it and was told it is because they are back logged on the AP MB's. Apparently the issues isn't that they don't have enough bands, they don't have enough of the discount cards that go with them, so they are waiting to ship out until they have everything :banghead:. How did they not know how many cards they needed to order or make....seriously, I have to think that they have a count of AP holders in some form

I wonder if it's a shortage of the cards, or them trying to deal with the many reported issues of incorrect cards coming with the Bands...

Hmmmm....interesting, I hadn't heard anything about that.
This is what happened with us. My family has 3 APs (me, mom, dad). The APs were originally linked incorrectly in MDE so when it came time to get the AP bands, they only sent us two, linked to the wrong accounts. So we got two bands and two discount cards...one band had my name, the other my dad's. One card had my dad's name, the other my mom's. After several calls it was sorted out and we got the correct bands & cards about a week ago.
