Annoying People in the Parks - Sept 2016 Edition

1) Why do people continue to take FLASH pictures of the castle with a cell phone from Main Street? Do people think the flash is actually doing anything other than annoying people around you? It's like 300 feet away.

2) Why do people continue to shoot terrible, shaky video from a cell phone in Indiana Jones, Festival of the Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, any fireworks, etc, etc? There are PRO shot videos on YouTube that look WAY better than your cell phone video will look and sound.

3) Why do people take pictures of fireworks? I mean, I can understand a few, but I see people doing it constantly, then posting it to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram like real time. They miss like the next 5 fireworks b/c they are bragging about being at Disney.

4) Why do parents let their kids eat and drink whatever they want at all times? I have never seen as many obese kids as I saw this last week. It is shocking. These kids weigh over 200 pounds and are under 12 years old. It's clear these kids get anything they want.

5) Why do parents not discipline their kids or make them have some manners? running around the restaurant, banging silverware for 10 minutes, and screaming constantly is not OK, even if you're having fun at Disney.

6) Why do people constantly complain, particularly about prices? I can't tell you how many times I heard people complaining. Stop going!!!! I would love for you to not be there.

7) Why do people walk 5 and 6 abreast in the park? Just because you have a family, doesn't mean you have to walk arm and arm throughout the park. The walkways aren't super wide and your slow stroll through the park is annoying.

8) Why do people ignore cast member direction? Fill in available space, go to your assigned number, keep up with the party in front of you, etc.

9) If you want to take a picture of someone in front of something, wait until there is no one walking between you because
I am not stopping while you take 45 seconds to take your picture.

This X1000. It's the reason I don't take a photo or video anymore. Someone already did it and did it way better than I ever could.

Your attire is your choice (although some of the people wearing their "summer" stay cool items can be questionable).

The constant picture taking is annoying when they are holding phones above their heads, flashing, and glowing screens during dark shows/attractions.

That wasn't one of your initial complaints though. You were talking about taking a flash picture of Cinderella's Castle.

The fireworks thing bothers me somewhat, but I also find myself trying to get fireworks shots if I'm at a cool angle or some such. I usually see Wishes/Illuminations multiple times per trip, though, and I just quickly snap a shot then keep watching.

... I'm actually patiently waiting to be on Spaceship Earth with one of those annoying flash photos on rides people. I wanna see what moon set looks like with the lights on without breaking the rules myself.

Something to keep in mind with people constantly filming is that this may be their only trip to WDW ever, so they actually will get use out of seeing 'their' trip later on down the road.

I'd like to add to this a bit -

My wife is on crutches full time (lost her right leg 10+ years ago to cancer). I either walk in front of her to clear a path or walk behind her to make sure her path is unobstructed. We were at MK and AK Labor Day weekend - the # of people who cut in front of her, cut her off or refused to get out of her way was UNBELIEVABLE. While we were in line for POTC, a 10 yr old boy behind us kept trying to use his dad's cell phone camera to take pictures up her shorts pantleg.....in obvious view of the father. When I turned around and caught him the father said "he's just curious". My wife was mortified and embarrassed - I plainly told him "if you cannot control your son, perhaps the security people need to be informed that your son is a deviant". His wife was horrified and apologetic.

Wow, you are a hero in my eyes. Your wife too. Kudos!

We're walking, We're walking, We're walking.....but now we're going to stop..... so we can have a conversation. Not pull off to the side, not get out of the way.....just stop.....right in the middle of everybody. The Couple, the in-laws, the sister and the 2 strollers. Just come to a complete stop. Nevermind, that there are people behind them.

With any luck the guy behind them who is texting while walking won't notice.....and walk right into them. I've seen that happen a few times and it's almost magical.

Plain and simple.

Kinda like a two-fer! However, I think that everyone needs to take the knots out of their skivvies and just walk around them. It is no more taxing then stopping, and if you accidentally run into them then you are either walking to close or not paying attention to where you are going. Which one of those total scenarios is the worst. I'd say they are just about the same. If you are going to get annoyed over something that I'll bet you have absentmindedly done yourself from time to time, you really shouldn't go out in public. Also the guy with the cell phone would have been much funnier if he walked into the lagoon. You're at WDW and you are doing nothing but looking at your phone? What's up with that.

Setting fast passes, making dinner reservations, checking the map to see where the nearest bathroom is, etc.
Nope... you do that in a quiet spot, not while walking around passing all the detail that there is to see. What the heck did we do before cell phones. Yea, I know you had paper FP's and made dinner reservations at guest services, but, you still weren't walking into people, things and water in that process. We reap what we sew!
