Anniversary Dinner...you had one job

As a person who has been greeted with such "surprises" ;) from my DH in the past, I have adopted an approach similar to what @JIMINYCR has noted. In fact, we have an anniversary trip to New Orleans coming up and while I want to be spontaneous for much of the trip, I'd like one nice special meal planned in advance...so, he gets the menus that I choose to send him. Then again, I could see WCC being a lot of fun for an anniversary meal. Sure, it's not quiet and romantic, but those ketchup memories may be the stuff of stories for years. :)

Well your first mistake was letting him pick a restaurant, you should know by now that men are sometimes a little dumb when you give them such an open ended question, as others have said you should have given him a list to pick from, this ensures you will be happy with the selection and your hubby will think he did something right :p. But on a serious note, I'm sure you guys will have a great time no matter where you eat at, and WL is a beautiful place to explore or just sit in a rocking chair and relax, its one of my favorite hotels to visit. Taking the boat from WL to MK late at night is always a beautiful ride, and you can sit on the beach and watch the water pagent, or if you time if correctly you can see it from the boat, I've done that once it was pretty cool.

Not preaching, just a note:
If you're expectations aren't met, you'll be disappointed; have no expectations, enjoy every moment no matter what, and you'll find the magic. My husband surprises me because I learned to let him.
I hope you have the trip of a lifetime and an anniversary to fall in love all over again.

More of a vent than anything else.... My whole family is going in Sept and i booked all my ADR's at the 180 mark like a good girl. We have one night open for one more reservation and it's just going to be me and my hubby celebrating our 5th wedding anni. I decided I'd play nice and allow him to choose one place to eat...

For our only romantic adult only reservation he's torn between T-REX, Whispering Canyon Cafe, or ESPN....

ok then....
personally i think this is missing The Nascar Cafe / Nba cafe from the list :D

What are the chances he is bluffing? He may be smarter than we think!!

nope - He's not bluffing.... I made the reservation at WCC, which is fine. Now i really just hope the wait staff mess with him big time!!! :p He's the most fun guy i know - hence being married to him for 5 years - so it'll be perfect!

We did California Grill during Wishes for our 10th anniversary dinner. We had the kids with us but it was a blast! That's a dinner I will never forget!
