We will be spending our 5th Wedding anniversary at "The Happiest Place on Earth" We are staying at the Polynesian from Aug. 31 - Sept 8. What experiences or advise does anyone have about making the most of this trip. All of our ADR's are booked but should we be telling every cast member it's our anniversary week in hope of little surprises? What things already offered could we take advantage of?

You can each pick up a free anniversary button once you enter your first park and wear it your whole trip. That will save you from having to tell "every CM you meet."

Congratulations on your anniversary! I would let them know at your resort (I would call before you arrive) that you are celebrating an anniversary. If you haven't done so already, I would have them make a note on all of your dining reservations also. If you are looking to do something special you could take a Wishes or Illuminations Cruise. Have fun

Whats that? And where do you pick it up? Wife will want one for sure from MK (10yrs)

As with the birthday buttons, you pick them up at guest relations in the front of each park. For MK it's town hall...or ask any CM.

As was said, mention this during your check-in, often there will be something special for you in the room. Certain restaurants may provide extra special treatment. Artist Point at WL is usually quite accomodating. Cinderella's Castle did provide some nice touches, but I don't know if that is done with the new menu.

Victoria and Albert's is always a special place to celebrate an occasion like this.

Congratulations!

Beat me to it. ClemsonTigger is correct. We got our buttons (1st visit and honorary WDW citizen) at Epcot just east of SSE. (I believe... - as you're coming into the park I know it's to the left of SSE)

Disney has always been great to us on our Anniversary. We usually go down over our anniversary every year since WDW is where we spent our honeymoon.

We always get the buttons to wear. One year a cast member at guest relations in MK saw our buttons and asked us where our "Bride and Groom Mouse Ears" were. We told her we left them at home, and she gave us a special ticket to turn in at La Chapeau for a free set.

On POTC the ride operator saw our pins and sent us on our own private boat, leaving the boat behind us and in front of us empty.

One year when we stayed at POP we came home to find a huge grouping Mickey balloons attached to a signed 5x7 card from Mickey and the gang.

On our first anniverasry we stayed at the Contemporary and came home to find a Mickey beanie holding balloons and a card. We also ate at Citricos that year and they put together personalized keepsake menus for us and created the most ornate chocolate patterning on our dessert plates I had even seen.

All in all, as long as you let it be know to Disney, they will really help you make your special day a memorabel one.

At Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans, and the Wilderness Lodge you can go on a horse drawn excursion. It's very nice. Very relaxing.

As everyone else wrote, put it on your resort and dining reservation. We generally go to WDW for our anniversary. At Tony's, the sprinkled the table with mickey confetti. The waiter made an announcement to the entire restaurant that it was our anniversary...and he had them wish us a happy anniversary.

At Nacrossee's they gave us personalized menu's.

Go sit on the Poly beach! Since you'll be staying there. And watch Wishes. Very romantic. Plus before hand they have the Electrical Water Pageant. Check with the Poly front desk, but I believe it's about 1/2 hour before Wishes. Grab a drink and or dessert and enjoy the fireworks.

The important thing is to also find your own magic...spend some time on Main Street after the park has closed with little or no people there...do the same at Epcot after Illuminations...or take a walk down the Poly beach to the Wedding Chapel at the GF.

Happy Anniversary!!!

We'll be going this august and it's my parents' 24th anniversary. I know them and they would never tell people upon arriving places... Is there any way i could do it? i wouldn't be present at their special dinner (Flying Fish). We'll be eating at Ohanas on the actual anniversary.

WE have been going down for our anniversary week the last 5 years. This year it will be our 15th . I had never said anything before, but this time when I made our ADR reservations I mentioned it for a special dinner. I dont' know if it will do anything but I am also considering telling them when we check in our hotel.

All you have to do is call the restaurant and tell them that it is your parents special dinner. Disney is great about helping with surprises like that.

Get your reservation numbers for the hotel as well as the meal at Flying Fish. You can call Disney, reference those numbers and inform them of the special event.

They usually will do something special at the hotel. I would call referencing your res number now and make that notation, but do tell them again when you check in.

No guarantee's, but there is a good amount of magic that can happen. Some restaurants are a bit better at it than others.

For dinner try Bistro de Paris in France @ Epcot. Very romantic quiet and the service is amazing. I would say it is a level above Cali Grill, Narcosses and the other signature restaurants on property. This restaurant is a hidden treasure.

Carriage ride @ Ft Wilderness is a great. They do offer them at other locations, but I prefer Ft Wilderness.

Poly on the beach for wishes with a Lapu Lapu to keep you cool.

V & A's is increadable, but it is hard for me to worry about a dinner where I am required to have a jacket in FL in late August.

We went in 2004 and mentioned that we were celebrating our 10th anniversary when we checked in. When we returned to our room after a day at MK there was a balloon bouquet and an autograhped picture from Mickey and Minnie personalized specifically to us waiting on the dresser. My kids thought that was the neatest thing ever. When we got home I framed and hung the autograph picture in the house. Whenever I look at it it brings back lots of great WDW memories!
