Animation Studio rehab at MGM in Sept

I would have to disagree with you on this. They are warned AT LEAST 2 times before you start the tour how long it is and that there are no exits at any point in the tour. Most of the emergency exit doors during the tour either lead to backstage areas or into the animation building which is off limits. After all those warnings if the guest still needs to leave they should be told no. There are no exits. Might sound cruel but they are warned more than enough before hand.

Exactly. Emergency exits are for just that--emergencies. Lack of planning to meet your party in time does not justify an emergency. If you were having a heart attack, they would let you out the emergency exits, but besides that, you have to stay. If Disney let everyone who wanted to leave this attraction into a backstage area, they would get sued more than they usually do--people would start seeing Cast Members wearing Tigger costumes w/o their heads on all the time, and sue disney for emotional damages to their 7 year old. That being the case, on the Animation tour as well as the Studios Backlot Tour, all guests are warned that these attractions take nearly an hour to experience.

I totally agree...people should be responsible for their choices and not blame the CMs...especially on the tour they mention that it will be long so many times that it gets annoying...

BTW I've been to Cali Adventure but I have never been to Paris...how is the Animation tour over there?

I like the current Amination tour but it does need some updating. The CA version is a little boring, the show is the same every time, there is no real animator just a Cast Member pretending. There is no real person in the same room drawing, that's what makes the current show more interesting. Sounds like a cost saving move to me. No high paid animator to pay all day just a CM at a lower wage. Hopefully you will still get to see upcoming projects.

First they take Walter Cronkite out of Spaceship Earth and now this! I’m really going to miss Cronkite, Robin Williams and the Back to Neverland show. I’ve only taken that tour once, back in the early 90s, and I really enjoyed it (We snuck out a side door for a quick photo op. with Mickey and Goofy before rejoining the tour). Those were the days.

I have been to WDW 21 times, and I am 16 years old but I have neevr been on the tour. Is it worth it or not so much? I am going in August and am looking for stuff I haven't done much.

I think you should see what all the talk is about...its nothing out of this world...but its pretty interesting to see the animator enviroment...I like this attraction...but I have to admit in all the times I've been to Disney its only been a hand full of times that I've gone on the tour...but you should atleast see what its all about, its not at all boring, and if you are looking for something you haven't done the animation tour is a great...just my opinion.

Speaking from personal experience it could be hard to try to find new things to do when you've been to the parks so many times...but believe or not there are alot of things...goodluck finding them :animwink: :lookaroun :hammer: .

Well I agree that they need to rehab this attraction but I do think they could leave a thing or two in there. I hope they will make it where you dont have to wait outside although you are covered but in case it started to blow the rain in towards you. I have not been to DCA or the one in France but I have been every year to MGM and I was at the opening day in 1989 and my family and I were the first people to walk down Hollywood Blvd. Ive seen the Animation Tour bloom. I think they should redo the film and keep Walter Cronkite and Robin Williams but just update the flims a bit, its still funny to watch. Take care all.

I love return to Wonderland... the last time I saw it, i wondered if the the fact that it's dated took away from the experience and I didn't think it did. I think they should leave the movie. It's great.
Of course, i've never seen the animation thing in DCA, so I can't speak on that. But, I think the movie is fine. I do think, however, that they should actually include ore of the animation studio in the tour. I'd love to be able to go down there and see things closer. However, I'm pretty sure that's not goint to happen...

pity...

Hmmm...isn't there no photography? Something about not wanting to leak out pictures of upcoming Disney productions. I don't know, I just don't remember ever taking any pictures inside Animation over the last 13 years:confused:
