Animal Kingdom's New Land: Ice Age???

Mammoth clone? Heh, offering an Ice Age park with genetically re-born extinct critters kept in a contained re-created environment? Better ask Iam Malcom whether or not that's a good idea.

No doubt about it, the beasty with the green eyes in the video is DEFINITELY the rock critter from Tokyo Disneysea. The two blades y'all might have thought as tiger fangs were its scythe-like forearms.

Is it just me or is that the most amazing animatronic ever built ever? Its articulation, complexity, and sheer size makes the King Kongs at Universal look like miniature golf obstacles by comparison.

>>>They could not tie in with the movie ICE AGE it has nothing to do with Disney, it was made by FOX. I would love to see an Ice Age themed land.<<<

Sure they could. ALIEN is a Fox movie, and they licensed the right to use that film's characters in a Disney Park attraction.

There aren't any other parks clamoring to use the ICE AGE creatures, the toys aren't breaking any sales records, and Fox would see the revenue from Disney as a nice surprise bonus.

But because the movie is quickly forgettable, Disney won't bother. If they were to build an ice age era attraction, they would avoid dating it with characters from another company's film, adding unnecessary licensing costs to the overall budget.

>>>why does everything have to be based on a movie these days, lets see some original ideas.<<<

Exactly.

Seems Imagineering used to have quite a few non-movie dependent ideas some years ago.

And they still do... RocknRollerCoaster is a fun attraction, that though music-themed, doesn't rely on films, and even Tower of Terror's Twilight Zone connection is merely a means of giving it some name cache'.... you could just as easily call it DISNEY'S HAUNTED TOWER or whatever, substitute an anonymous host for Rod Serling's character, and it would be every bit as spectacular.

I think that the "monster" is actually a Chinesse type dragon like Mushu from Mulan and it will be featured in the new fast ride that is being constructed in the Asia part of Animal Kingdom.

And here will be the actual MYTHOLOGICAL part of Animal Kingdom that has been lacking for several years.

My two cents. Ciar_j

It was not a dragon. It was the LAVA CREATURE from JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH.

I give it absolutely no credibility since the special was entirely made by an outside company. They shot the footage and edited it together.

In television production, its called a "dogshot". They simply put it in as an example of "fantasy", to go along with the narration.
