Animal Kingdom

I was told by concierge at the Animal Kingdom Lodge that a walking path is being added from the Lodge to Animal Kindgom.

I haven't been there since AK Lodge was built, but I kind of assumed that there would be a way to walk to AK from the lodge.

This is wonderful news! Like Carl, when I stayed there I also assumed there would be a walkway...it's a little far to walk by the road, but it looks like a path would be a "short cut" distance wise. I hope they do it!!!

Before you could go walking, but not exactly from the AK Lodge, but you could walk along the road so you needn't take out your car or even take a bus, since it's not useful later.
I was expecting something of this sort to be constructed. Is the path in construction or is planned?

Animal Kingdom Lodge is quite a distance from AK (and everything else for that matter). I wouldn't expect this to happen anytime soon. Unless they can really make it a shortcut.

They told me in concierge that it is under construction and that they have walked it. They also mentioned that it was through some wetlands and may have even said something about tunnels. I guess we will see. I believe it was Juanita that I spoke to about it. She also mentioned that it would be a long walk but doable if people were interested. I could not imagine walking long distances with kids then walking the park.

True, maybe, just maybe, they will use it as roads for a similar transport to the ones used to take people from the parking to the park in Epcot and MGM...That would be useful and effective, too.

Radio Disney Boat

I heard that the old Radio Disney boat ride would be connected to the AKL; as an alternate route to the AK.

they would have to build a whole new waterway...a bit expensive, but I suppose it's possible...they could connect it to Discovery River and give AKL guests their own "special entrance" around where BK will be.

But they would also need to make another entrance just for AK lodgers, which I don't think it is convenient since it's not a chain of resorts like Epcot Resorts and the World showcase entrance, but just one resort. However, this entrance could be built in the future, if there is another AK resort, which I don't think will be constructed in a while.

I think for the next AK resort they should do what they did witht he Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland. They should theme it to beastly kingdom and put it in the park. Guests at this hotel would have direct entrance to Beastly Kingdom and get their on entrance. This is all if BK even gets built.

Beastly Kingdom is green-lighted. It will appear in some shape or form, we just don't know what.
