Animal Kingdom - Wait Times added for Walking Trails

Did anyone else notice the My Disney Experience app added wait times for Maharajah Jungle Trek and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail at DAK? I'm guessing they did this to make it look like they have more attractions than they actually have; especially when Dinosaur closes. Honestly, I think that is kinda shady?

They should have taken the carousel that is planned for Tropical Americas and built it on Discovery Island so they could have it open and ready to go when Triceratop Spin closed. Or at least when Dinosaur closes.

Whilst I understand wanting another attraction, putting it on Discovery Island would be pointless. It would then be in the wrong location.

Not shady but maybe they are anticipating guests will not be going to Dino and the other construction areas and therefore will divert towards other areas including the Trek and Trails and there will be a need for times to be posted.
Maybe you’re right. It was showing a 0 min wait, maybe it is a test for when they have to use it.

Not that this is a big deal, but I completely disagree. What’s more versatile for a middle, entrance type of land than a carousel? Plus, the theming is wood carved animals. Would fit perfectly as a compliment to the Tree of Life. There’s nothing inherently “Tropical Americas” about this ride. Not to mention there are actually a bit of unused spaces on Discovery Island it could go

Why does that space need to be used? Discovery Island doesn’t need a ride on it. The clue is in the name, it’s meant to be discovered by meandering around its paths.

It doesn’t HAVE to be used. My point is that they are going down to 5 rides. Which will soon be 4 when Kali is closed for winter. For their current price point I believe that’s not acceptable and there should at least be one more attraction open during the Tropical Americas construction.

I don't see it that way at all. If you have things to do on your schedule, it would be helpful to know the approximate time it would take to go through a walking trail before you start.

I wish they'd add more trails and treks to the park

Or I guess I could just visit a zoo...

I do too... it's such a shame that Tropical Americas won't have one. I mean Dinoland already had an exhibit for American crocodiles, which are native to the tropical Americas, and yet they removed said crocodiles for the Tropical Americas land.... lol

And zoos don't really cut it. They don't have the level of in-depth theming DAK does. Even the really nice ones like San Diego and Columbus.

You're the opposite of most park commandos who complain about AK. It's a "half day park", you see, because not enough attractions. Trails and shows? What are those? (Rhyming not intended).

I agree that the trails and shows are a great part (if not the best part of DAK) the issue I was highlighting on this post was that they aren’t “attractions” with a wait time. I just feel it’s a little misleading on the app, especially for new visitors. Maybe “shady” isn’t the right word. I just wish that they would have had a placeholder attraction ready for when they are doing construction. And I reallllyyyy hope we get some sort of animal walking trail in Tropical Americas even though that was never announced. I mean they have had a few animals in DinoLand before. Why not have some now? I want to see Toucans, Capybaras, Anacondas, jaguars, piranhas, caimans, monkeys, and crocodiles!

Tell me this is a joke I'm not getting 😭
Yes ... joke. If you had been paying attention to the many AK posts in the past, you'd get it. A lot of posters say avoid AK because it's only a half day park with not a lot to do there. They say it isn't worth the cost of a ticket. They tell newbies who ask advice to plan 1/2 day at AK and then 1/2 day DHS or EP. I personally find a whole days worth of things to occupy myself there.
