I like the idea of water, it does relate to nature very well. What about something along the lines of Tokyo DisneySea's Fantasmic, but around Discovery River?

funny you mention that because I was thinking the exact same thing! I was also thinking there could be water floats of the main animals that are featured on the Animal Kingdom sign!? very spectromagic like but on water !?

Yes! For example the Dragon float could have all different fictional animals on it! Nice idea!

And how about for the space between each logo animal you have smaller floats based on Disney films with animals. Or maybe try to tell an actual story, each float is one scene inspired by the animal type you last saw?

I love the idea because it can be viewed all over the park!

YES GOOD IDEA! I love it. Maybe even each float can come with some sort of projection surface on it and in the end they can combine and create an image of something??? too far!? lol

Tie in characters, like the Rafiki, Louie, Turk float from Fantasmic.

Also would be great to see Fire on the floats. How could other elements be represented? glowing kites for wind? how about "earth"?

If you can figure out how to make them combine on a float like show then it would be great. The DisneySea floats use LED screens but I think projection would be better.

A rockwork covered float? Ice could have snow machines with arctic animal AA's on the float.

I wouldn't have a clue because the technology doesn't exist. I'm not sure how it could be done (well I do but it's expensive and impractical).

I was thinking a show in front of the tree of life. Kind if like fantasmic but on land, themed to nocturnal and bioluminescent animals.The whole thing would be lit by fake fireflies placed carefully in discovery island(hidden of course) and fake bioluminescent fungi like Firefox

I don't think there is room. Animal habitats and a walking trail currently take up all that space.

That's true. It's just kinda hard for AK. All the space they have is required for guests to keep moving.

As we said earlier, Discovery River has many view points around the park. Something on the water similar to DisneySea's Fantasmic could be cool and also involve turning something average into a stage.

A water parade type show would be great along the Discovery River but the noise levels might be a bit too much for the animals having it be park-wide like that. The little lake by Everest would be a nice spot though, it seems to be isolated enough. As for a story, it should be something that reflects the park's sensibilities but still be magical enough a spectacle for the nighttime. Maybe like a "Festival of the Fireflies" with LED's and maybe some choreographed twinkle lights on trees surrounding the area along with floating lanterns. It could involve an old legend wherein every night, the fireflies of the forest hatch and light the way for wary travelers and for each person saved, a firefly earns the right to take to the skies and become stars.
