OK. The rooms are somewhat similar to the Polynesian, but have African themed batik bedspreads and drapes instead of Polynesian. We stayed in (and will be staying in...48 hours!) a Savannah overlook with bunkbeds, so didn't find it too crowded. The animals were about 50 yards (sorry) from our balcony at times...there was a feeding station for the giraffes right outside our room. We also saw vultures, deer, kudus, and antelpe every day. You can see other animals from other resort areas...it is set up with many scenic overlooks, and lots of knowledgeble guides. We saw the most animals at dawn, then again late afternoon. When we checked in, we had to sign a waiver stating that we were aware of surveillance cameras aimed at all balconies (keep drapes drawn after dark) and that anyone throwing or dropping anything off the balcony, or anyplace else on the grounds, would be immediately escorted from the hotel...no refunds, no returns in the future.
Yes, there is a food court. I brought cereal, milk etc and rented a refrig...ate most meals elsewhere, since I have a picky eater. You can get standard US type food, and also more exotic fare. The prices are typical for any WDW resort.
