No not those the Garden Cottage suites one is ALOT larger than the ones in the Villas. Also AKV Kidani has a different jacuzzi tub too. It's a long rectangle shape and I love that one too it's my second fave to GF, unlike the garden oval shape in the other villas besides GF. The Garden suites are not DVC rooms but rather a regular suite and they are awesome but that tub takes FOREVER to fill even halfway. Sorry did I say that already. Haha! ;)

I've only stayed at Boardwalk once, and that was in a 1 bedroom DVC villa. Didn't realize there were other room types... thought it was all DVC. Will have check out the Garden Cottage suites.

Half of the resort is all regular rooms and suites. When you walk in and go to the right is all regular rooms and to the left when walking in takes you to the DVC side and some regular rooms as well I believe. All of course shares the same check in desk etc. They even have Club level rooms and a concierge lounge that is of course not part of the DVC side. The Garden Cottage Suites get club level access but are not on the club floors. They are awesome most of them they have their own garden and a separate entrance for each individual cottage and each garden is slightly different. Ours had a heart shape of roses. They are 1.5 stories your bed and the master bath are upstairs and downstairs is a sectional and a half bath and a kitchenette area. We paid about the price a 1 bed villa went for with the discount at the time in 2012. We would love to stay in one again. Here is some pictures of ours. I have a lot more but won't post all of them. Haha! :p

Wow, I didn't know. I've got a reservation for the first weekend in November at Boardwalk in a 1 bedroom villa. So, when you say kitchenette, do you mean standard kitchenette like DVC studios? Larger frig, microwave, toaster, coffee maker?

I'm going to have to check this out. I just might be changing my reservation if there are any of the cottages left.

@sxeensweet - How much of a pain is it to use the club lounge when staying in the Garden Suites at BW? We once stayed in a Deluxe room at Beach Club with club access. Ours was on the second floor right by the quiet pool, so a section that does not have a fifth floor. Club level is, as you probably know, on the fifth floor, so it was quite a maze getting to the lounge. We barely used it. Since then, I've several times considered the BW Garden Suites but always decide against it thinking that using the lounge will be a hassle. I've stayed at BW in a regular garden view room but never stayed there club level so I don't actually know where their club lounge is.

It was not a pain to us at all. We come out of our room into the garden area and then went into the side hotel door, then up to the 5th floor on the elevator right when you walk in, and the lounge is not far when you get off the elevator. I mean yes it's harder than staying in a room on the club floors but it took us 3-5 min to get to the lounge. ;)

Here is a picture of it....it's much like the studios kitchenettes. Excuse our bag of chips in front of the microwave. Lol. I believe there was also a toaster too under the cabinet possibly not plugged in but don't remember, but definately a microwave, fridge, coffee maker (on top of microwave), and a sink. The half bath is right next to the kitchenette area. ;)

My snack food sitting there would be a big bag of white cheddar popcorn - that stuff is addictive. I've had to pick out pieces from the bed at a resort many times. ;)

I found a website that reviews and provides pictures of the luxury rooms at deluxe resorts. Didn't realize that BC, YC, and BW all have those types of rooms...thought that was available only as DVC. Sadly, there are no cottages available at BW for my November trip. :( And the prices for my two stays next year exceed what I've already booked as a DVC cash room (I've run out of points for both 2026 and 2017, mainly due to a near week long stay in a 2 bedroom villa at GF for my daughter's wedding in February) by thousands. But maybe when discounts are announced for early 2017, those rooms will be included and still available....would love to stay in one of the cottages.

Thanks for telling me about them.

Thanks for this, and for the room pics that originally prompted my question. Now I think I want to try a Garden Suite the next time we stay at BW. I had seen the outside of these and the cute porches and beautiful fenced gardens on our walk to the BW quiet pool, but later when I looked at pics of the rooms online they didn't look as flattering as your pics do. I also didn't want to pay club level prices and not use the lounge. We really only use it for the cappuccino machine and the occasional quick bite to tide us over until an ADR, but still I didn't want it to be totally inconvenient. Thanks for explaining how to get there. I know exactly the door you mean.

Yep YC is all standard deluxe hotel rooms/ and club level rooms, and BC and BW are half and half. Half regular Deluxe resort and half DVC resort. Usually the Garden cottages at BW are included in discount offers but being there is only 16 total (12 the layout of mine and 4 with a slightly different layout an no private garden) of them I believe, so they go fast with any deals. We booked it with a 35-40% room discount in 2012 when they used to do 35-40% off. Lol. Hope you get to enjoy one of them eventually. ;)

I have a lot more pictures too but this gave you a general idea. They are wonderful in our opinion and I'm picky about rooms. I'm a little spoiled. Haha! They do have 4 that have a different layout that do not have a private garden and I think that's the pictures online if I remember not of this layout. Those don't have a big sectional sofa and the bedroom above is not a loft but closed in etc. But the majority of them 12 of them are laid out mostly like ours but with maybe some small differences. The only downfall was carrying all the luggage up to the loft bedroom area. That was a bit of a pain but once it's done your good until you leave. lol ;)

How do you know whether or not you're selecting the private garden? I only see one room category of garden room (outer building, club level access) At over $1000 a night it would be pretty disappointing to not end up with one.

I'm picky about rooms too. Very much so. I didn't think about the luggage. Thanks for pointing that out. I DO NOT travel lightly :)
I'd love to see more pics sometime if you get a chance. You can PM me. We kindof highjacked this thread. Sorry OP!

You are not guaranteed one but can request it and that's what I did. I specifically called and requested one with a private garden and the layout with the large sectional sofa. I actually requested the specific 1208 or one other one that was the same from pictures online I had seen and surprisingly they accomadated as usually with too specific requests they do not. Thankfully we got it. We paid at the time (Dec 2012) with our room discount about $550 a night, but still yes it would of been upsetting to not get the private garden. I was so worried about that until we arrived. Lol

Yep sorry OP didn't mean to highjack the thread!! Haha! And yes I'll try to PM you on here when I get a chance with some more pictures. ;)
