I don't think it's bad, but I've heard many complain about the distance. Yet, it was just a 10-minute walk (lobby-to-lobby)...so not bad, especially when you consider all of the walking you'll do at the park. If you don't like to walk, you can take a shuttle, but I hate waiting for shuttles when I can easily walk the distance.

To give you some perspective, my family (including two teenagers and one 78-year old grandpa) walked from Kidani to Boma for dinner one night. No one complained about the distance.

Thank you :) I appreciate that! Most ppl are saying it's fine, 10 mins max and that's fine with me :)

Thinking of staying soon at AKL as DVC member. I'm just wondering which part has a better view of the animals from the balcony. I'm reading that you hardly see any animals in Kidani Village as opposed to Jambo house. Please help

Not true in fact most of Kidani Savannah view rooms have a view of Sunset Savannah which has the most animals with the giraffes etc. We always see lots of animals when we have a sunset Savannah view. Now the Pembe Savannah has less but has the rare Okapi which has to be kept seperate from some of the other animals so that's why there is not as many in Pembe but there is still plenty to see. Yes we prefer Sunset Savannah but Pembe if you end up with a room there is nice to see the beautiful Okapi. And the rooms at Kidani are much nicer and larger as well and have the larger master and extra bathrooms like I mentioned in my other posts. Kidani is our home resort and our fave. Now you are not guaranteed to get Sunset Savannah but can request it. We don't always get that request but always ask. :)

Both houses have potentially equal views of animals but at the end of the day animals can be unpredictable so your results may vary. We've had excellent animal views at both and also some mediocre views at both.

We had lots of animals outside the room every day at Kidani. Wherever you read that you hardly see any animals at Kidani is certainly not representative of our experience. In fact, we were surprised how many and how often they were right outside our room. We spent a lot of time on the balcony enjoying watching the animals.
Here at home we only see a cat, and the occasional squirrel or two walk by. Oh, and sometimes a deer, opossum and sometimes a fox, but never giraffe and zebra, which we watched every day for a week at Kidani.
