Does anyone know why animal kingdom’s closing time is 6 pm every day of Presidents’ Day week? It is usually a really crowded week and you would think they would be extending the time not bringing it earlier. Do u think this means it will not be as crowded as in the past? I hope so. We will be there.

DAK tends to close when darkness settles over the land.

Since the Park no longer features any nighttime spectacles, most Guests depart later in the day and head elsewhere.

So the short hours reflect this….from a certain point of view.

Disney now sets placeholder park hours, and then modifies them much closer to the dates, sometimes about 2 weeks out. They may yet modify them for Pres week.

Currently Feb 9 and 10 has AK open until 8pm. So keep checking.

You can get some rough idea of expected crowds by looking at hotel availability that week. Full hotels tend to - more hours. Emptier hotels - less likely.

Hours are still until 6pm in the first two weeks of March. Those weeks are still in Eastern Standard Time. And, although the changeover to Daylight Time occurs on 3/18, closing is still shown at 6pm. They'll probably change back to 7pm sometime after the switchover back to Daylight Time.
